Time to start "Thinking Spring". I received a sample of Pens English fern and I enjoy the scent, although it only lasts a few hours on my skin. Would anyone recommend Wild Fern over English Fern? Is there any real difference?

They are similar but I like Penhaligons better. They last about the same on my person. Pens has a tad more sophistication though. Grab some samplers before you buy.

They smell very similar to me. There really is not a big difference. Longevity (on me) is about the same. I recommend GFT Wild Fern.
I love them both, Trumpers has a less boggy smell to it to my nose. Both are winners tho.

Agreed. I am not a huge fern guy but I do prefer the Trumper's.

I get a sweeter smell from the Wild Fern. It smells like it has sandalwood in it. I would agree that the English Fern is more complex and sophisticated.

I think that they're both very similar, but with Trumper's, part of the green remains in your wallet.

I like them both but Pen definitely lasts much longer on me. To echo an earlier recommendation - this is why you need samples before dropping the big or bigger bucks.

They smell very similar, but I prefer the Penhaligon's version. The Trumper's dries down with this rather generic weird background scent that I don't like.
The Pen's starts out sweeter, but evolves much better over time IMO. It just seems a cut above the GFT to my nose.

Definately a slight edge the the Penhaligon's. I really liked the Trumpers version simply because it was available in the crown top splash and I prefer a splash over spray... but Trumper messed that one up for me :(

Penhaligon's is a dressier "in door" fragrance; the Trumper's is a tad lighter and just a tiny bit sweeter and more "outdoorsy". I like them both but the Trumpers wins by a nostril.
