G'day
Another Aussie joining the club. :thumbup1:
I found the site after I decided to give wet shaving a try. I was using a Fusion razor with King of Shaves Alpha gel. I bought a Futur razor from Mens Biz and have managed 4 extremely good shaves over the past 4 days. Daft thing to say but I can't believe that it has taken me 35 years to work out that shaving can be an art and enjoyable as opposed to a function that has to happen every morning.
I have just ordered a brush and some cream to replace the gel. Can't wait for those goodies to arrive.
So how am I doing so far...
To start with I am amazed at how close a shave I get with the Futur for no effort, just let the razor do the work.
I have not spilt any claret yet but I am taking more care and longer in the morning to pass the razor across my face.
I am missing bits which I have to re do. I find that the Futur head is quite big and I'm having trouble getting the razor into the tight corners like underneath my nose and ear lobes. But I'm getting there.
The Merkur blade that came with the razor is just about done so I'll be moving to Feather's next. Yup I've read some of the posts and will be careful.
This site has been source of terrific information and help. Thanks to all you good folk that take the time to post such useful info.
One last thing, I haven't been through much of the B&B site but is there a post that explains the shorthand you know stuff like BBS WTG ATG etc?
