New to the forums and very new to using a brush and shaving soap. I currently use a shavette with personna blades (I know the shutter that most of you probably are having hearing I use a shavette, but I wasn't prepared to shell out the cash to set myself up with a true straight razor before testing the waters. I'm going to be switching to a DE soon as finances have dried up for a straight razor set up at the moment.) Anyways to the question at hand

I'm currently using Proraso shaving soap, and enjoy the results, in the prep I have about a tablespoon of hot water soaking the top of the puck. When I'm done making my lather should I leave the container open to allow the soap to dry completely or close it up when its still damp? Does it matter?

I put it away 'wet' and don't worry about it. By the time I have finished shaving, rinsing, and doing the post shave ablations, the soap is dry enough to cover.

I leave the container open to dry. I'm pretty sure it doesn't make much of a difference, unless there is a ton of water still left on top.

When I am done shaving I simply pop the top back on and put it away. No issues to this day.

I let it dry out for a day or so, and then put the lid back on. I have a few soaps and creams going, and not sure when I'll get back to a particular one. If I was using the same soap everyday, not sure I would worry about it being a little damp with the lid on.

i do let mine air dry before putting the lid back on, usually overnight.

i don't think it's that important but it's a habit i've got into
