View Full Version : A Really Nice Way to Wash Your Face

While trying to get my Proraso Brush ready for shaving, I was soaking it in NB Face Wash. Well I was wiping it up one more time to leave it before I went to bed and I saw all the foam there and I was yet to wash my face before bed so just lathered the cold soap on my face with the brush. I took a few minutes and really scrubbed. It was a very pleasant feeling. The cool crisp feeling of foamy soap and the invigoration of the bristles. Some night, if you've got some extra time on your hands give it a try, it's nice.

I agree! I do that every once in awhile with a fairly stiff brush and some shaving soap, just to wash my whole face before bed. Feels awfully good!!

Sounds like a good use for my old boar brush, I'll give it a try.

My guess is it would work much better with a boar brush, from my personal experience it does, but I think you'll like it Mason, your face just feels so clean and the bristles feel nice. I figured it out nearly by accident, but I really like it.

I like this idea. Even using the shave soap alone sounds good. The Honey-Bee soaps I recently received would work great - fantastic aroma and skin conditioning. Maybe I'll use the almond (my wife loves almonds   ).

Hmmm... does this merit the purchase of a boar brush that currently doesn't grace my collection of goods?

Great idea. Since tonight is my non-shaving night, I think I'll try it before I go to bed.

I did it with my Vulfix 2233 Super and a bar of regular Neutrogena soap, right after the Cardinals game last night. It was wonderful! The lather would have been good enough to shave with. I opened my eyes for a little peek in the mirror and I looked like I was covered with whipped cream!
My face, especially my forehead, was so smooth and soft. Also, the aroma was very pleasant. I think I will do this more often.
PS - It seems that the Neutrogena would make a great shaving soap. Is there anything wrong with using it, that way?

I don't know about that, others will probably chime in. But, now I feel like I should go out and buy some proraso soap just to try this. Or does cream work just as well for cleaning?

Well of course it does! Resistance is futile!

You're so right, I went to fill a prescription at Target and ended up getting some Proraso soap... Now what do I do on Proraso night??? I've got cream and soap to choose from, what a conundrum!

I'm really glad some of you guys have tried this and are enjoying it! Very good! I've totally switched to washing my face like this. I also feel like I am getting it much cleaner than with my hands or a washcloth could do.

Man, I just used my prickly brush with some Proraso soap to wash my face. Good lord is that refreshing, this will be a nightly routine now! Thanks for the great idea Tim.

Oh god... so I just got a C&E brush (the big one) and an Omega 6215. The B&B brush is on my list and now so is a proraso boar brush for some face washing.
I'm going to be selling bloodplasma and a kidney to be paying for all of this.

Tim, this was a great idea.
Since I've been getting along so well with my SR 3124 and Omega Boar, my C&E EJ Super Badger has been neglected.
I read this thread, and then decided to wash my face tonight with the EJ Super (I typically don't wash my face at night) and it was quite a joy. I made a small amount of lather with my Olivia King Kong Shave Soap and gently rubbed my face. Very luxurious feeling. I can see this turning into a habit.
At the very least, all of my brushes will see some use, and I'll go through my soaps quicker
Thanks for sharing this idea!
