You aren't the only person to (wrongly) think that way... I blame such views on macroeconomics - a field that I loathe.

I thought my new brush and razor and soaps would be here when I got home, today, but they weren't. Sometimes, the UPS man comes later in the evening, though.

No worries! I have taken a liking to long-handled brushes so it was precisely because this was a Style 3 that I pulled the trigger. I find that long handles are easier to grip when making lather.

I bought letterk's 50 blade sampler and the 240 derby extras for B&B'ers from ebay. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks...I don't even own a double edge razor yet. So I bought the following Gillette adjustable 1-9's from ebay. Prices include tax and S&H:

1) '63 slim from a guy in Israel $22.90
2) '71 black mesh handle from a person in Nova Scotia $16.00
3) fatboy w/case/blades/paperwork $45.15
4) fatboy w/case/blades $43.25

Do these prices look at least fair...for ME!

P.S.- I may be interested in another fatboy or two (I need fatboys for Christmas present for father and brother-in-law and courtesy score for friend. Any offers?

Great, the order I placed on the 27 of august finally arrived.

And yet I'm still interested in what you bought. I'm Greek (well, of the American variety) and would love (ok admittedly for the novelty sake) to try the Greek cream. Its a bit pricey though. Have you used it? Is it any good? Also what's the name brand of the hair gel? And finally, what store did you buy it from (that way I can neatly avoid having to wait two months for an order:tongue: )?

Thanks.

I’m sorry I didn’t answer earlier but I wanted to try the product at least once. First impression: I’m awed. Seriously, this product is great, especially since it is non-foaming and brushless. When you apply it, there is only a very thin layer of cream on the skin and it looks like it will serve no purpose, but I managed to get a baby-butt-smooth shave real quick. I’ll test it again this weekend and post a review probably on Tuesday. Note that my beard is not that hard to shave and my skin is quite insensitive.

The hair gel is from the same company, Korres (http://www.korres.com/).

I ordered everything from Carter & Bond, but I wouldn’t blame them for the delay. Some products I ordered were out of stock and they offered to split the order in two. I declined as I wasn’t in a hurry. However, it took one month for the French postal service to deliver it.

Very nice Mr. Mayor!

Thank you Austin! :biggrin1:

Here's a question for all of the Simpson's mavens out there: I have four Simpson's brushes now, three of which are labeled "Super". I also have plenty of supers / silver-tips from other manufacturers (Omega, EJ, Rooney, Kent). In all of these cases (save one) the pattern of the hair looks the same as you see in my previous posting for the Major. However, the PJ3 in that posting (labeled "Super") has dark hair right into the handle.

Is this variation normal? Did I accidentally receive a Manchurian PJ3? :biggrin1:

Thanks,
Danny
