Some posts say that they will get a better shave after using a blade once or twice? Scientifically speaking how is this possible? While dulling may be insignificant after one shave, it cannot become sharper after use; can it?

Have a heart today was my 1st de shave.

They don't become sharper - they become smoother.

Basically, the first use takes the edge off (literally) and wears the blade that little bit so its not quite as harsh as it is for the first shave.

+1 You sort of 'strop' the blade on your own face when you use it the first time, this makes the blade smoother and more 'face friendly'.
