I've got a Mhule silvertip that's got a "bog-wood" handle, great brush but it's been sitting unused for a number of months. Went to use it yesterday and found that the wood had cracked and split in a number of places making the knott very weak. Any ideas for repair and/or how to stop it from getting worse?

My understanding of Bogwood is that it normally splits and cracks as it dries out.

That sucks man. I would contact the retail store you purchased from first and ask for suggestions. From personal experience, Muehle itself has great customer service, but then you have to deal with international shipping yourself, so I would hope your retailer mans up.
Where was it being stored?

I got it through Muhle direct, just e-mailed them about it too, we'll see what come of it. I had it stored on a stand on my bathroom counter.

I've have 2 wooden brushes hanging from the rack in my bathroom for 3 years, I shake them out and wipe them off after I use them and they look as good as when I made them.
