Up for grabs is a fine Fatboy razor. The razor is in excellent condition and all mechanics are perfectly smooth. Asking: $45

Nice razor, but the "195" moniker is reserved for the bottom adjusting (and very rare) version of this razor.

Yes unfortunately. Gillette never used the term Fatboy for this razor, they called it the 195 Adjustable. The bottom dial is the bottom dial.

Yes, while Gillette never called it the Fatboy, it is known worldwide as such.

Most people, like Ouch said reserve the title "195" Prototype as refering to the bottom dial.

This will cause lots of confusion....Heck even I stopped into this thread to see it and I own a 195 prototype.

My suggestion would be to change the title...

My apologies to the forum. I recently reacquired an interest in double edge shaving (I'm 63) and I found the site just two days ago and signed up. I had no idea a site like this existed.
I did not have time to fully familiarize myself with the buy/sell protocol at that time I signed up and did not realize I violated forum rules by indicating my desire to buy the Fatboy buy responding in the tread. I will not do this again.

By the way, what a great site. After years of tedium in shaving with the "new" multi-blade shavers and electrics and not being satisfied with the shaves, feel and cost, this forum has really gotten me interested in the old tried and methods of yesteryear. I'm glad I found you.

Bud

No apoligize needed sir, it's all good. You did not violate any rules. PM's are just the fastest way to secure a sale with a seller. You can post your desires for the razor in the open forum as well. That let's everyone know your interested.

I don't care how you buy it. Just buy it! My trembling finger has been dangerously close to pulling the trigger on this one. How am I supposed to explain a 6th fatboy? Buy it! Just buy it! Please!

right... well the "Fatboy" 195 Adjustable with the top dial was made in 1960. I can't speak for the manufacturing dates of the bottom dial "proto-type", but I have seen them with the "date code" F... like this one that raynoldart is peddling:

you're making me pedantic ray!

NO. Sorry, I didn't see tht he was showing an actual 195. I got confused about which "195" we were talking about

I have two standard fatboys and I just realized they're both F 4s...what are the odds
