The aftershave I currently use Jack Back aftershave leaves my skin very oily. I absolutely love it, and a little goes a long way. However, I have noticed that most balms leave me oily so I have decided to make the switch to a "splash". I honestly thought about going with a designer splash but I am not so sure how good those are in quality. Can anyone offer suggestions towards some really good ones??? preferably unscented because I do not want the scent to clash with my cologne. But any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. I look forward to hearing your suggestion.

Try Em's placehttp://www.emsplace.com.
they have a great cucumber one that is amazing. It does have a mild cucumber scent, but it is very faint and is gone in minutes.

Like you I prefer mild splashes with low alcohol contents and scents that fade within 5 minutes of application. For me these all worked well:
DR Harris Pink: $35 Light Rose Scent
Thayer's Medicated Superhazel: $10 Peppermint Scent
Burt's Bees Rosewater & Glycerin: $12 Similar to Harris Pink at a fraction of the cost.
I use the Burt's Bees product the most often.

Don't give up on balms yet. Try Nivea Sensetive, one of Charles's QED balms, or Art of Shaving's Unscented. All absorb and leave your skin looking fantastic. Good luck.

Also in the balms department, try Trumper's skin food. You need very little, and it is in no way greasy. Fairly heavily scented though. Although for me, the scent doesn't usually hang around for too long.

check out Wesley and Scott (in-house brand for shavingessentials.net). Really great stuff. Gets absorbed and makes your face feel great. Only downside is that the label is fairly generic-looking and I wish it were a pump or squeeze bottle. Otherwise, I have no complaints.
I probably sound like I've been hired to pimp this stuff as my first two posts are about their balm, but I really like it. The clove and peppermint is being discussed as the AS of the week.

+1 on Speick AS. Very light scent that will fade and not conflict with an EdC. Low alcohol content and witch hazel for a low burn and soothing, light feeling.

I concur, Speick is some wonderful stuff. I find that on me the scent doesn't linger very long, wish it did because I like the smell, but it does leave my skin feeling great which to me is more important than how long the scent lingers.

great splashes that do not stick around for dinner.
SCS Med. Citrus Splash
Boosers Polar Ice, Oriental Spice
I am sure there are more but these are the ones in my den. I might throw in the Swiss Pitralon but I use that only for rough shaves. That stuff is like magic.
