OK, so after applauding myself for narrowing my brush collection down to one a few weeks back, I got the itch and ordered another brush. Now, I'm the owner of not only a Rooney 2/1, but also a custom Shavemac (it's been the topic of another thread).

Then I started reading over the post regarding the BBE's, and realized that there was one left.......Naturally, I felt that I should give it a home.......so I bought it.

Then, I was glancing at the BST, and noticed another Shavemac silvertip on sale for a great price.........once again, I felt compelled to purchase it.

So, in the span of about a week and a half, I've acquired 3 brushes.....though 2 aren't here yet.

This has got to stop eventually, right??? The really sad thing is this......I was completely satisfied with my 2/1, and had no real reason to buy any other brushes!!!! I think I'm losing my mind.

No! I need someone else to suffer like I do. By the end of last year, I had down-sized my brush collection. In the past month I have acquired a Plisson, another Rooney, another Shavemac and a Kent. :blushing:

Glad to know it's not just me......

And you just reminded me that I used to have a Kent, and might have jumped the gun in getting rid of it

But seriously, which model do you have??

Over the past 2 plus years, I have owned over 30 brushes. I'm presently down to 4.... a Kent BK4, an Original Simpson Chubby 2 that sheds, a drugstore VDH Boar, and a hasn't arrived yet Omega Boar. I pretty much enjoyed all that have come and gone. SBAD grabs ya for sure!

You are not alone! I am about to order a Shavemac 177. Hope my wife understands!

I have the Kent BK4. I have been very impressed with it so far. I also just acquired the B&BLE by Kent but have yet to use it.

Losing? or .... past tense- Lost.

You are giving in to what many of us secretly long to do. In a number of the larger music stores, they have headphone stations where you can listen to bits of the tracks of virtually every song in the store or in some cases, a selection of cds. We need that for shaving brushes. I just need to sample about 15 of them to narrow my wish list down. Of course one can buy and then sell. For instance, I have a Rooney 1/1 and a Shavemac 177. Both fabulous, never will need another brush. But... I'm really curious about the Stubby 2 by Rooney, the Chubby 2 by Simpson, a Thater brush, a high end Kent brush, a Shavemac DO1 with a short/medium loft, the QED Bambino and a few more.

I need a fancy store with shave stations.

The funniest thing about Mike isn't that he buys and sells a lot of brushes but that he ends up buying selling the same ones over and over....he tries to thin the herd every once in a while but then the herd starts to grow again....

What a great hobby/obsession we have

Maybe someone should start a Netflix service for shaving brushes.  Give people a week or month to test drive their most desired brush, with a option to buy. Main value of the service would be in acting as trustworthy intermediary which cleaned/detoxed the brush as it made its way around. I am only half kidding, as I think this could cure a lot of xAD if one could just take shaving equipment for a test drive like they could a car.
