I really like the Spanish and Italian Floid products as they are really nice and soothing.

Used a Schick Injector today instead of a Bic metal for touchups and upperlip.

Overall, a very nice shave and I smell good

I think I am going to drop the last pass at 1 from now on. It just seems to glide arround hovering over hair that was cut lower from the 7 pass. I really don't think going lower toward the end of the shave is very effective at all so I may keep the 4th pass but won't do it at 1 anymore, 7 or above depending on how things are going.

Very nice composition in the photo! How was the "Sunset" ?
This Omega really suprised me. This is my first brush in pure that is almost black at the tips, and while the tips are nice and scritchy for the initial circular scrub, the brush is also very soft on the final painting pass I use to even out my lather. In short this brush lathered extrmely well and was a real pleasure to use....a A+ shave today.
Cheers, DJ.

Rick,

The "Elegant" has been a pleasure to use. It whips up lather very easily (even with soaps) and hold just the right amount of water.

The knot on this brush is out of this world. It's soft like my Vulfix #41 Silvertip yet it is scrubby like my Duke 3 Best as well. It's the best of both worlds.

For the price (If you can still get it for $59 or less) it is a must have. Good Knot, beautiful handle what else could you ask for in a brush.

When my PJ2 super comes in I'll let you know how it compares to this brush.

I was running late this morning so I had to scale way back on my shave. It was a cruddy shave with the injector as very few whiskers seemed to get reduced after two passes. The NB scent did help to cheer me up though. I'm probably going to retire the NWC as I have never gotten a consistantly good shave with it despite repeated attempts. I've got a old injector in my closet that I got off of EBay a few months ago but have never gotten around to giving a test drive.

Realm EDT - Not a rose scent, but the contrast and similarities to rose in the scent are really pleasing my nose this morning.

The Rose Geranium soap from QED is very nice and whips up very well on its own in my moss scuttle. Today I tried adding some of the excellent T&H rose SC and my scuttle could not contain the amounts of excellent lather that poured forth! :001_wub:

The shave was a 4 pass with the final being against the grain. I also tried out some of Mantic's advanced shaving techniques (I already blade buff) such as the J-hook on some of my usual trouble areas. The techniques worked good but there is some slight irritation where I did the J-hooking. Not bad though and the heat was killed by the talc right away. Baby butt smooth though!

Feather (2)
Unidentified almond cream sample

Alum block
Thayers Rose Witch Hazel
Limes Skin Food

I am trying to blow through the dozens of vials of cream samples it seems I have. The label fell of this one, but it was an almond of some stripe - maybe Harris or Trumper. I would put money on Harris though. It was dried out though and made lathering a bit tough.

First shave with the Rooney - at 26mm, this is by far the biggest brush I've used to date and it really whipped up a lather in no time flat - I can't see me ever getting anything bigger.

The Escential shave cream was very nice - thanks to Dinder for the sample!

Tom, try giving the brush a hard shake, and then add water slowly to your mixing bowl or mug....you can always add water, but you can't take it out.
That's exactly what I did. Strangely enough, it changed very quickly from "is there any water in there or is that just cream?" to "hey, where'd the cream go? slosh slosh"

Really a poor shave. I tried to use less shave cream since there's always so much lather left over. I thought I could economize. But I think I used the same amount of water as I do with more cream, and results were poor. The razor skipped across my skin, and, despite starting with what looked like a normal bowl of lather, I didn't even have enough for the second pass.

It's a bit difficult to get the lather going, but once you get there it works very well. Tallow-based soap, very slick and moisturising soap. Great skincare, less scent than the cream. Overall worth a try.
