Dye beard, then shave- Or???

I normally dye my goatee first, then shave, and that seems to work best. Dyeing after shaving seems to be a little irritating.

Just wondering how some of you guys do it. Also, any suggestions on methods/procedures that give best results would be great.

I would dye before and I might skip a day just to let my face recover a bit first. I'll assume you mean to dye it a naturally occurring or normal color. Most of my experience with beard coloring is of the red/orange/electric blue variety :wink:

I always had to use a bleach or blonder before I could get color to stick.

If you're using a beard dye like Just For Men, the directions specifically state not to shave the same day you apply the dye. I usually shave every other day anyway, so I would dye mine on one of the inbetween days. The dye will not take if it mixes with shave soap or cream.
