Definately not a fan of the Body Shop shave cream - old formulation. Wow. I gotta say this stuff is the most foul vile smelling stuff ever produced :9898:

Sandalwood. As a component in a scent it can can be tolerated. I can't hack it as the primary note.
Almond. I'm trying to get over this one. It always makes me think someone has spilled a cyanide. Too many years in the lab I guess.
Patchouli. I can't smell patchouli without subconsciously adding unwashed hippy B.O. to the mix. If you wear patchouli you'll always smell like a dirty hippy to me regardless how clean you may actually be.

the scent really isnt a big deal as much as does it bother your skin in some way that this cream/brand or that particular scent you cant tolerate it?
seems like i read that Almonds and sensitive skin are a no no. that type stuff is what id like to know.

Rose and other heavy florals. Ugh.
Tabac.
Musgo Real - I love it, but it irritates my face. :frown:

ARKO. I love the lather, but I loath the scent (smell rather).
It all comes down to the individual and you won't know what is going to irritate your skin until you try it.

+1 ... Sandalwood doesn't work for me. Its not that I'm allergic or anything, I just don't like the way it smells.
All in all, I greatly prefer unscented products, and I go out of my way to seek them out, especially when I'm trying a new brand.
I make some exceptions for Tabac, Musgo Real, and a few other classics. I don't mind putting a nice EdC over top of an unscented soap+ASB, but I try not to mix scents if I don't have to.
There ought to be a law that all manufacturers of soaps, creams, ASL/ASB, etc ... should be required to produce a version of their product that is unscented.

Rose makes me gag. Almond creams, as much as I love the smell, don't agree with my face unfortunately.

Palmolive red. It works great for me, but I just can't get the stuff past my nose.

Cremo cream
for some odd reason, it makes me gag. The scent was so off putting I rinsed it off during my 2nd pass. I love citrus scented products but this almost changed my mind.

Ditto... smelled several and none of them appeal to me.
Wouldn't wear florals like violet and lavender either. Not a man's scent IMHO.
KMF mint, I had a bad reaction to it. T&H products did the same thing, cream and the balms.
Cheers,

HBS Ye Olde Barbershop - I LOVE HBS soaps, but this one is entirely too sweet and "in your face" when lathered up. Made an excellent bath soap, however.
Anything containing large amounts of bergamot - I friggin' love the scent of bergamot, but it causes my skin to react :blushing:
QED Badger & Blade - Used to be my favorite smelling soap and cologne. After using it a while, it caused my sinuses to act up big time. Bye bye, B&B :frown:. I think it's due to a certain type of Sandalwood oil Charles uses since the same thing happens when using the Sandalwood soap. Odd though, I've used pure Mysore sandalwood oil by itself and it didn't cause me to react. Such is life.
Trumper's Violet - Sickly sweet. I don't understand all the hype.

The scent of Grafton makes me slightly queasy.
I love the scent of the Nomad but I think most C&E products are too much trouble to be of much use so I avoid them.

I completely agree with your thoughts on patchouli, it is a terrible, foul smell.

I can't stand almond scents. There are a few creams in my repertiour that give me slight discomfort by my 3rd pass but I don't think I'd say I can't use them or classify them as giving me a reaction.

Lavender - anything.Yep, same here.
I tend to avoid rose scents also -- though I can sometimes tolerate them if they're blended with something else (which I can't say for lavender.)
