Hi Guys.
I am not using a brush, cream or soap yet, i am gathering information about the different soaps, creams and brushes.
So far, i have decided to go for the Edwin jagger "best badger" medium sized brush.:001_smile
But when it comes to soap and cream, i'm not sure wich to choose:confused:??
Could someone please explain me the pro's and con's :thumbup1:?
Please bare in mind that i'm a newbie from Denmark, so not to many "BIG" words!!
Kind regards Lars Jensen:wink:

Lars- soap vs. cream is really a preference issue. I think there are some of us that gravitate to creams initially because that's what they have been using for years in its canned goo form. A lot of people gravitate to soap because that's what they associate with the whole wetshaving process. Some switch from one to another. Some just buy a ton of both and pick randomly. I would recommend that you get a cream and a soap and see which fits you better (of course, you may find you love both). There are plenty of good options available in Europe and you can check the review sections about some that you see in your stores. European members will also come along and probably provide some recommendations for you as well. I wouldn't stress out to much about soap or cream. Pick what you want and give it a try. If you don't like it, you can eventually sell it on B/S/T. Good luck and welcome aboard.

.... Shave on..!!!!:w00t:
I am a soap guy don't really know why I never tried creams like MaineCaneFan said I think it's because soap is what I think of when I think of the whole wet shaving process there are several wonderful soaps out there and many I have yet to try, I am finding out that the home made and smaller companies make some of the best soaps just my two cents
You can get Mitchell's Wool Fat here in Denmark; http://www.scandan-import.dk/
I highly recommend this soap :001_wub:
Are you going to buy your brush at www.thegoodstuffshop.dk? I have done business with them several times. Kniv Per is a really nice guy.

Welcome aboard Lars - nice to see another European!
Start off with cream - for no other reason that it is so much easier.
Having done so - then you might want to experiment with soaps.
Also - begin with some inexpensive cream available to you locally so that you can just keep practicing until you get your lather just as you like it.
In other words - don't go spending any real money until you have got it right!
Cordially, AvT.

Being a starter usability is key. There may be good procuts which you can buy locally. If you want to buy online there's a great share of German artisan soapers. One of the places which I can recommend is www.olivia-seife.de The [WM] editions are beginner friendly and IMO the creams are top notch. There's also a brush (brand: Bock, 15€) which has been praised by the German wet shaving community http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Indeed:
http://shop.gentlemens-bazaar.dk/default.asp - soaps and brushes (and maybe soon DE's - I have spoken to the owner about that and I think I have persuaded her). I have bought a few things there, great service. Stay away from the Trevarno soap though.
http://www.proshave.dk/ - Merkur razors and Proraso. Great service again. I have bought my HD there.
http://www.webdrugstore.dk/shop/barbering-28s.html - cheap Feather blades, fast delivery
http://www.gentsshop.dk/ - I have no personal experience with these, but they seem to have a lot of good stuff

I've had positive shopping experiences with the Dutch Shaving Shop, Mr. Paul Kox, and have no problem recommending this vendor.
