Excellent looking Single Ring and case...Nice score.
Thanks guys! I actually saw this one at an antique shop last summer. I visited the same shop today and knew that I wanted to buy it this visit. I think that I will leave the razor in its vintage silver patina. I will scan the instructions (the English section) and post them to the Safety Razor instructions section soon.

The bostonian had the four corner teeth bent and you could tell where someone had hit them because the metal was kinda flat, it had a crack in the handle (Normally I wouldn't mind so much, but I did because of the other problems), and the felt lining inside the case was redone by the seller and wasn't original.

Picked up an Aristocrat (no date code) and a '54 SuperSpeed that were both in mediocre condition for pocket change. However, after thorough cleaning and polishing the SuperSpeed looks brand new with the exception of a tiny spot of brassing on the handle, and the Aristocrat...well it won't ever be a collector's piece, but it should be a great shaving razor.

Well, I received my NOS Slim today as well as a gold bostonian set that I am sending back:frown::mad:
I sent a gold Bostonian back as well.
The seller said how nice it was, and the pictures seemed to uphold this.
Only when I got it, I was .
Seems the camera flash had concealed plating loss on the business-end all the way down to the core metal in four major spots.
The seller was cool enough to allow a return, however, and I was none too happy to comply. It's the first return I've ever had to make.
Peace

The pictures speak volumes. The professionalism, skill and class of Ken at RupRazor. HIGHLY recommend him. The Heirloom W&B that turns out was the personal best razor of my Great Great GREAT Grandfather George Rook of Liverpool, England, who made his way to New Amsterdam, Indiana in 1857. I cherish this and many thanks to Ken who sent it presented in a velvet jewelry box! Note as well the work done on the Puma Special, Dubl Duck No. 1, and the Hunter & Sons 1830's Sheffield. AWESOME!

I bought a 16 oz bottle of Pinaud Clubman today for $6.55. i can't tell you how long it took me to make the decision to buy, because it's so embarrising.
however, what pushed me over the edge was the idea that if i can like this stuff and it's as powdery and wonderful as ive read, Per OZ. the price my aftershave collection will decrease significantly!

I received my new 2" Tony Miller tri-strop today and it is simply fantastic!
The strop has 3 components: Cotton,Latigo and horsehide. I was previously using one of Tony's 3" horsehide strops but it just seemed to wide for me.
The 2" suits me much better and the smaller size doesn't matter since I strop in an X pattern anyway.

A full tank of gas and a few pesos netted this Texas Hill County Antique Shop find today.
fantastic! I'd go a tank o'gas for either of those - nice score.
today's mail brought:
L'Occitane SS in bowl
puck of Penhaligan's English Fern SS [thanks, Alabamalawyer!]
1921 silver Big Fellow
ABC set - gold in gunmetal case -

(some unfortunate reflections - I'll have to try a few more of this one!)
more photos next week: of the Big Fellow, a couple NIB vintage brushes, and whatever else the mail lady brings!

That is in simply incredible shape sprescott...and with instructions? That's absolutely amazing in this day and age.
I have one on the way myself, but the case closure and snap are missing.
Awesome man.
Peace
Thank you! I have posted scans of the instructions in the Safety Razor forum.
I hope that you enjoy your purchase.

Picked this up at a local Walgreen's in a Latin area of Tampa for $3.99. Nice light scent of bergamot, neroli, lemon, cloves, cinnamon, lavender, ros es and orange flower. Very very nice!
I bought one in the Chicago area last year. I love the scent. Too bad that I can't find it here. There are very few Walgreens in the DC area.

Here is my find for today! Date on the razor is from 1909. The case has M. M. Smith engraved. The inside of the case is just as pretty as the outside!

Woke this morning to find a message in my inbox from Robert Williams. One day this week, I will be the very proud owner of one of his English Barber Classic razors in Damascus and Ivory. It will be a long week waiting for this beauty to arrive.

GREAT brush!!! Stiffer pure badger hair.. Small knot.. Large handle.. Exactly what I was looking for!! :thumbup1:
Oh, and for anyone who's interested, my local store was restocked with men's products in all three lines (except for the Sienna soap but I was told they would be restocked in that too very soon).. So maybe they're not discontinuing the lines..

I picked up these at an antique shop this weekend. The Straight had a few small spots on the blade that quickly shined up. The '62 slim was NEARLY 100% BROWN when I bought it. I was sure that it was going to be rusted. Took me about 2 hours today to clean them both up, but, looking good now!
Now... I just need a hone and strop... ;)
