Anyone have any scars that give them trouble?

I have one on my jawline left side, and I'm always cutting it open!

I got it years ago from a DE and it kind of went away when I was using a Multi, but now that I've changed to a straight I find I'm always opening it up!
as much as I enjoy using the straight I'm getting tired of dabbing blood and pressing a stypic against it.
seems that if I pussy foot around the area I'm OK, but it doesn't do anything for the shave quality... and I have to do touch ups with the DE..
I find I can still use the DE (with care) and may just have to switch back..:frown:
don't really want to switch back.. quite the conundrum
anyone have a goatee on the SIDE of their face?:lol::rolleyes:
or any good tips?

I don't have any problem scars, but rather a scar field on my chin. They're a collection of small battle wounds that have accumulated over the years.

The biggest is a divot that I got from a Merkur travel model. It's so light and maneuverable that I accidentally sliced a hunk of flesh while spinning the razor to change sides. I once did a sideways slice with a Sensor when it slipped out of my hand and I had parallel gashes on my chin. Classy.

Fortunately, they don't look bad and I can shave over them with a DE.
No str8s for me.

I have a 2" scar under my botton lip from falling out of a tree when i was a kid. It is a very prominant scar but luckily it doesn't get in the way when I shave. I also have a 3" scar on my right temple that i have been told is quite sexy looking. Too bad the rest of me isn't sexy looking.:001_rolle

Don't give up. Try different angles, too. Maybe even xtg with 45° angle
I have a little scar on my upper lip but fortunately it doesn't trouble me.

I have a small one on my chin that I nick if I don't totally relax my face when I shave over it. If I relax, I can take several passes and do just fine.* If I stretch my skin or make the "I'm shaving my chin" face, it sticks up and I'll zing it every time.
*(With a DE. With a straight, I have to just be REALLY careful or I'll nick it anyway.)

I have a nice little scar under my chin from where I fell face first onto a concrete floor (don't ask) about 13 years ago. It occasionally gets sensitive if pressed or rubbed, but hasn't caused a problem shaving yet. Aren't girls supposed to dig scars???

Moles suck. I have cut mine several times and it seems like it takes hours to get it to stop. I have just learned to get right up to it and after I finish shaving I use a small trimmer to get the hair around it.

You could use Mederma. I'm pretty sure my wife has found a generic equivalent at Target.
Over time your scar might disappear, but it will definitely diminish it at least.

Thanks for all the replies guys!
It looks like there is really no fix for dealing with that scar, no magic potion to make it go away.. although I may just try some of the stuff smOO7h wrote about... couldn't hurt.
Taking more time might be wise also, seems the better I get at using the straight the more likely I am to cut it....
I think I'll give it a rest from the straight for awhile and see if I can get the scar to diminish any, then have at her again...

I also had a mole that gave me grief on my cheek, but after years of nicking that ( and yes, they sure can bleed) I finally went and had it removed.
I am very happy it is not there any more and is not missed at all!
It might be something to consider for those that have the same problem.. removal never took long and the healing was done in a week or so if I recall..
Thanks guys for the replies..

It is a magic potion ;)

If your scar is visible, it could take 6 months to a year to fully go away...but stick with it because it will work.

My wife uses it on her burns from cooking and scars from dancing and the cat. I'm pretty sure all the dancers she knows use it, too. I have no idea what they do to scratch themselves so much...I guess their nails or something

I have a lot of scarring on chin and cheeks (of my face) due to a car accident about 20 years ago. The best advice I can give is just to be really careful, and keep any scar tissue well moisturised. If you are continuously opening up a wound in the same place you may need to get advice of a medical person.

I have a huge scar on the left side of my chin from a dog bite (it took 17 stitches to close it), but oddly it never causes me any shaving problems.
