I love DE shaving! I've just completed my first week and it's going exceptionally well! My first shave was a bit patchy, but the shaves quickly improved from there. I've had ZERO nicks or cuts this whole week and only had irritation once (that was on my neck yesterday - my lather was a bit thin plus I did a couple XTG passes I wasn't ready for). One thing I noticed about the irritation is that it cleared up much more quickly than when I was using my mach 3.
I used a Wild Juniper Bark Scrub from L'Occitane to wash my face before my shave. While I'm in the shower, my best badger brush soaks in a bowl of hot water. After my shower I squeeze the excess water from my brush and lather up using L'Occitane's CADE shaving soap. The Merkur HD with Derby blades glides across my face effortlessly. I finish off with a splash of CADE after shave and moisturize with Nivea.
Best shaves of my life and I know I'm just starting out so it's going to get even better!
EDIT: I even shaved my wife's legs with this stuff the other night and...well, you can imagine what happened next.
