Can I use ASB below the eyes?

I like to keep things simple and tend to use my after shave balm all over my face including under the eyes. Is there any reason not to do this? (I noticed on the label of Kiehl's ASB that you should not)

I also tend to use my aftershave balm as a moisturizer even if I have not shaved. Again, any reason not to?

I tend to use either Trumpers skin food or L'Occitane CADE ASB.

I would follow the manufacturers warning. I use balms to moisturize my T-zone during cooler weather.

Paula Begoun, in her website - "cosmeticsop.com", says there is no difference in the skin around the eyes than the skin on the rest of the face, and so you don't need a separate moisturizer around your eyes. I'm not promoting her or saying she's right or wrong, but it is a different opinion.

I would say so long as you are careful not to get it into your eyes you will be fine doing what you are doing.

The skin around your eyes is is thinner than the skin on the rest of your face, so you have to be careful with some stuff. I think it is generally fine though, unless it's something really potent.

the only reason i have ever heard that sounded legit was that some moisturizers contain things that are similar to menthol, for example, eucalyptus oils. for some people putting this under your eyes can cause irritation or redness or cause you to tear excessively. guess it really just depends on whats in the lotion.

Do whatever works for you.

I have to be very careful with the eye area personally, my skin is extremely sensitive and I get bad reactions around the eyes from almost everything. So there is good reason for the warning you mentioned.

Unless it's highly mentholated, I don't see why not. I know Woody's After Shave balm actually recommends using it for those times when you have dark circles or bags under the eyes.
