I sent this out to a few fellows I know and decided to quick post it for everyone here with kids.

For the past ten years we have been tracking Santa with the help of Norad (http://www.noradsanta.org/en/home.html). My kids have always enjoyed it. It's pretty cool, check it out.

Parents note: It helps to get the kids into bed when they know Santa is almost there.

Happy Holidays, Enjoy!

I think this will be the 4th year that we will be using the site. Also, on one of the links from the site they used to have some Christmas music MP3s done by one of the military bands.

I think its a fake, because Santa has a stealth sleigh with supercruise ability.

Fake... naahh... in order to help our military, Santa gave them the best penetrating radar technology possible.

Either way, my 8 (soon to be 9) year old is excited to see it. I just set it as the homepage on the laptop so she can check whenever she wishes today.

Thought the BBC article on this might be of interest, in particular:

Norad's 50-year tradition of tracking Father Christmas goes back to a misprint in a Colorado newspaper advertisement in 1955.

A local child wanting to know Santa's whereabouts dialled the phone number printed, which connected to the Continental Air Defense Command (Conad).

As more mistaken calls came in, the commander on the other end of the phone answered the queries and the tradition continued in 1958 when Conad became Norad.
