Hi,

I'm going to get a Simpsons Tulip but can't decide between the T2 and the T3.

I'll use this with Tabac soap and face lathering.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Bob

T2 is my favorite brush, perfect size for soaps and face lathering. Fortunately I purchased mine before Vulfix got involved. :001_rolle

Why not a T1 for face lathering?

I have a T3 and like that size. Big enough to make and hold plenty of lather and small enough to be maneuverable and use in smaller mugs.

I think this picture will help you to decide :001_smile

I think the photo did it. A T2 it is.

Thanks,

Not so fast! Let me sway you with another picture:

Note the shapely, Mae West curves on this T3. Not many T2's have that geometric "magic". :biggrin:

What a beautiful brush!!!

Bob, write back when you get it about it's performance, I have an eye on this!!

Happy shaving! :)

Does anyone know the knot sizes of the brushes?

If you're feeling lucky you could try setting your sights on a pre-Vulfix two-band T2, that would be my recommendation.

T2 = 22
T3 = 23

And here's all the dimensions for all the brushes:

I'm leaning toward the T2 since the knot size is close to the Chubby #1 (which works great for me).

Although the T3 does look great!

Thanks,

Bob

The only trouble with those all of those photos is that they are of T2 and T3 brushes that were pre-Vulfix. The brush that will you receive will not be the same as what you see above.

The bristles will be softer and the bristles will have a bigger splay than what you see above.

The old Simpson Tulip brushes, after they are used, almost retain there original shape wherein the new Vulfix Simpson brushes will remain in their post-bloom shape.

The density is different and the feel. The new brushes do not have the scritchiness of the brushes and have a much more softer, luxurious feel.

Good luck.

I have a T2 which I purchased right before Vulfix got involved which makes me wonder if the brush was actually knotted by Vulfix because this brush is (k)not like any other Simpsons I've used.

If you are a soap user and a face latherer, from what I've read a Simfix Best sounds like a good option. The Colonel is getting a lot of great reviews especially for the price.

For reference here is a picture of my T3, and T2's.

I would LOVE to find a T2 like the one in the middle of that picture, gorgeous brush! :001_smile

I like the look of the T3. And those two band pre-vulfix brushes are soooo sexy!:eek:
