AM Shave was rushed had to get out to a meeting. PM shave was mediocre, blade really needed to be changed after 4 shaves.
I honestly wasn't too impressed with the Avocado tonight, it was difficult to get a consisent lather and my face was burned. Now a dull blade didn't help, but still, I'll hold off on purchasing a full sized tub for the time being.
Thing that's too bad, now that I've gotten started with the good stuff, I wish I could shave twice a day everyday just for fun, but I don't think my face can handle it.

What an awful morning. First the Feather gave me the worst razor burn of my life, and then I discovered something even worse - on torn up skin, Proraso pre/post followed by Baxter's ASB burns like fire. I was expecting glacier-like relief but it felt like torture until it eventually faded away. Why on earth would these two products react in such a way?
Close shave though

The florena now theres a winner.. its like you just received a fresh Bouqet of flowers and your face dived deep into the bouqet. the LAther is a no brainer instant. its the love child of Proraso red and Arko Sensitive a really good job.
Good start of the Week. The Anherb stuff is really weird aswell smells great after applying nice soft skin. these might pass it to become new BarberCulture products.

I received a bunch of different samples from TomH (wish you would post again...too fine a gentleman to be missing from the forum) and the Italian Floid aftershave was one of the samples. Interesting stuff...worked very nice to relax my face.
I really like this Tommy Bahama scent on a chilly morning. I know it is not Trumper's or Creed but it is nice in my opinion.
Great shave to start the week.
Have a great day.

* This was my first use of the l'Occitane cream. The side of the box states that it can be applied by hand or by brush. As you might expect, using the Omega did not generate a great deal of lather. The typical amount of cream from the tube was barely enough for two (thin) passes: I had to throw some Palmolive (red) into the bowl to create lather for my third pass.

Actually, the Proraso in a can is, IMHO, the best canned goo on the market and the only one I would attempt to use a DE or SE razor with. In fact it was the Proraso in a can that got me curious about their other products, which eventually led to a purchase of the cream in a tube - since which I've never looked back. I still keep a can of the Proraso green foam around for when I'm in a rush.

I quited after semi 3 passes. thats it cant stand these bad shaves.. a First with the Feather.. First time use of the Tamara cream that could be the cause its not as Slick as I like my creams could be I used too much water or too little. the cream itself smells like a candy I used to suck on looooooooong time from childhood they were called HOTballs or Fireballs immense red and youd suck them and oh boy did your mouth became hot !

Single pass with "Summa DE" Blade got me nice and BBS in the AM, but by 6:30 today I was needing another shave, so I proceeded as follows:
http://badgerandblade.com/gallery/displayimage.php?imageid=3837
The Feather AC got every hair there...wow does this thing leave a smooth path behind itself. I went WTG for a single pass on cheeks and mouth area, ATG on the neck (what was I thinking?). Anyhow, very smooth shave with no irritation.

Cheers, DJ.
Thanks DJ, I'm trying to slowly introduce it into my rotation. I don't want to get too comfortable with it just yet, as that's when I'll probably do damage.
fyi - Getting used to using my left hand to shave left side of face has been the most challenging part. If you aren't already using left hand with DE, I'd recommend you start little bit at a time to make transition easier.

The third shave with this blade is getting kind of tough. I think that until I use these all, I'm going to have to use two per week. :frown:
I am finally starting to get a pretty good lather from the soap, though. Maybe I'll have the hang of it before too long.

A rather international shave day.
Schick Injector w/Schick blade
Bic Metal
Shavemac Custom brush (Germany)
Pollena Linder shave cream (Poland)
QED Rose H2O (USA)
Swiss Pitralon (Switzerland)
Trumper's Eucris EDT (UK)
The Schick Injector may not be as fun or as sexy as some of the Gillette or Merkur razors but it gives one heck of a shave.
If you haven't had the chance to try some of the Pollena Linder cream....you are missing out on a very nice product. Nice "minty" scent
and lathers very nice. The Swiss Pitralon just feels great and leave my face feeling refreshed. The Trumper's Eucris is superb.
I'd love to have a European contact to purchase the Pollena, Pitralon and Floid items.
Have a great day and enjoy your shave.

The most wonderful thing about this morning's shave was being joined by my 10 year old daughter! She has become fascinated with all of my recent shaving paraphernalia acquisitions and listens carefully as I explain about brushes, creams, razors, blades, etc... This morning she lathered up her face along with me and I gave her a Gillette slim-handled adjustable (sans blade!) to take the lather off. We had a great time! (She chose to stick with a one-pass shave. )
Afterwards, we agreed on two things. First, we both sincerely hope that she won't ever have to shave in the morning. Second, we agreed that the application of thick, warm lather on one's face with a dense, luxurious brush is exquisite! Now I have to work on my son.
Cheers,

Wednesday Shave: I don't quite remember, aside from a Derby in my Merkur 1904, and I think some QED Tangerine & Spearmint soap. It's a shame I can't remember, because it's one of the best shaves I've ever had.

I got a burning sensation from this morning's shave. I'm not sure if it's because of the PSO or the QED Bay Rum, as they're both new. I masked last night so the skin was nice and fresh for one of those things to eat away.
The PSO seemed to work pretty well and smells really nice. Reserving final judgement! The Body Sander didn't foam up as much as I expected from its description, but really did feel like sand - it left my skin nice and soft all day. Charles says it can be used without soap afterwards, but I did anyway as I wouldn't want to Body Sand everywhere. :wink2:

I had decided to stay away from the Vision until I logged a few more miles on my HD and Fat Boy. Using it today reminded my of just how unique a sound this razor produces! As I mentioned in another post, I am sure that my neighbor can hear me shaving when I use the Vision. I felt like I had better control this time and I could certainly back down on the adjustment thanks to that: I kept the opening on "O" through the shave. Still, a few more nicks with the Vision than the HD.
The Mama Bear's Bay Rum has a wonderful scent! However, I can never whip-up the same kind of lather using soap than compared with cream. I think I'll poke around the Shaving Soap forum to find out how I can improve my technique.
Enjoy your shave!

I have been noticing that a 4th pass is necessary as the blade gets to the end of life. I have been trying it at 1 and just running it wild in every direction as the blade never touches skin at 1. I then notice a couple spots that I missed at 7. These are usually in problem areas for me so I don't try as hard with the first three passes and then use the last pass for the hard spots. We will see if this is still necessary with the new blade tomorrow.

I added a dollop of Palmolive and was rewarded by loads of slick lather. I'll have to pick up a small travel tube of the CADE shaving cream to give it another test.
