I posted yesterday about my first experience with an open comb razor, and now today again i got a BBS shave, no stubble rubbing in any direction, without any irritation.
This might be the perfect razor for me, or open combs in general.
I went from: OK shaves, a little irritation, cuts and gashes if ATG attempted.
To
Excellent shaves, zero irritation, AWESOME BBS SHAVES when ATG attempted
In one day, just by switching to an open comb razor.
Yes, there is a "but"
But i'm going to shave with this open comb for a week, then try one of my vintage gillettes again to see if its the razor, or i just fell into a groove.
I will become an open comb spokesman!!!

You know, I was trying really hard to avoid having to buy an open-comb razor. REALLY hard.
Which one do I need to get?

IMO, the Gillette NEW is the best shaver ever made. Give it a try, and you may agree.
Add one of Bob's custom handles, and you may never use another razor again.

NO. You don't need to go to an open comb, Especially the NEW. Stay away... Then I can get them all. MUHAHAHA
seriously, ebay a cheap beater new, clean it up, try it out, if you don't like it, try it with a different blade. I love the sharper blades in my slims, but the NEW seems to work better with a merkur or astra. It is a tad aggressive and took me some time to get used to it, but I love it.

The New changed my DE outlook forever--I rarely use a solid bar other than the slants.

Yeah, i bartend during the summer, and since i'm the only bartender that works there i work 10+ hour days, dont really have much time to do anything.
But it gives me enough money to purchase all the required shaving supplies come winter :P
