Two "Double Arrow" straights from stamps on the `bay.

Pretty damn nice out of the box, er, envelope, but took `em over some 3M abrasive film mounted on 1/4" glass and oooo-boy... shaaaarp.

I greased them up with some gun oil and put them away until I get around to rescaling them.

Well, what came for me over the past few days was:
-blade sampler from westcoastshaving (the economy one)
-samples from Truefitt and Hill (the creams, is there enough for two shaves in them?)
-and what I think is a 'new style' Gillete from the 30's, can anyone help identify that anymore? this was free from the family basement! can't wait to give it a try.

A coworker told me a couple of months ago that she had a couple of those "old style" razors.

She finally brought them in, a Z1 Fatboy (1979?) and a E4 Blue tip flair SS.:w00t::w00t::w00t:

Cool. Describe the Z1, it can't be a fatboy. Is it a black handled adjustable razor? If so, it is a super adjustable.

You are right, E4 Fatboy, E4 Bluetip which shaves goood!
Don't know where the Z came from, but the fatboy in box is in very good shape.

I just got a very nice package from Shavemac a few days ago. I got my vintage Simpson Polo rebristled with a 20mm knot, 46mm loft, and another genuine horn Shavemac, but this time I with a 23mm knot and 44mm loft. At first I thought that similar to the Rooney heritage brushes, it would hog too much of the lather, but that is not the case. Both brushes are amazing! I took these pictures post bloom.

Two skeletal vintage travel kits to combine with others. Will probably adapt one to hold Harris Shave Sticks and other shaving stuff.

One ounce of Tam Dao from a deal with Chuck, the Decant King.

I bought this antique bowl that I'll use as a lather bowl.My first try with it last night was quite nice. It retains heat pretty well. I also picked up some Clubman Talc. That stuff was very nice on the skin after a shave. :w00t:

That vintage Simpson is sweeeet! Were the handles that color originally, or do they turn that color with age?

Thanks! It works even better than it looks.:w00t: They were originally that color. There is another vintage butterscotch brush at an antique store which is very tempting......:tongue_sm

Today I went to my favorite butcher to get a prime rib roast to cook for the up-coming holiday. I ran across a couple antique shops on the way, and ducked in to see if they had anything. Long story short, I found a couple DC razors, One red tip(A4 datecode), one black handled flare tip(F4 datecode), and one regular flare tip(B2 datecode).
I also picked up what looks like a tall soup cup, it's really heavy like restaurant dishware, so it doesn't float, I think I found my new lather bowl/scuttle

Pretty happy with today's haul.

Got a couple of pucks of Tabac from fragranceX, couldn't pass up on that deal.
But I'm pretty happy with this:

I read JarheadSgt's score a few days ago and was very impressed with his results. Unbeknownst to me, I was about to get a similar surprise. A few days before I had won what I though was a clapped out razor in a pocket edition set, bad pictures, on the cheap; I was interested in the case which I though I could restore to use as a travel case for another razor, maybe even the blade case was usable I though. Well, it shined up better than I thought, it looks to be a Pocket Edition #13.

I need to get a better camera :blushing:

Been looking for wet-shaving items in flea-markets and antique stores for weeks with no luck. It changed just yesterday. My two finds follow:

Christy Safety Razor
Excellent condition, came in box with instructions with two blades. Shaved with it today. That will be the first and last time I do that! :tongue_sm

Curvfit Safety Razor
It is a Woman's razor made for underarm shaving. And no I won't be using it! Gold plated in excellent condition in a box with instructions but no blades. A note about the box, it had a price tag from the Jordan Marsh Co. a department store (replaced by Macys) in Boston which was a Boston icon for decades. Get this, the price was $1.50. Had to buy it because my Dad use to work for the store for many years.
By the way, the razor head is shaped in a semi half-moon curve. No doubt to make underarm shaving easier. Would of been nice to have blades just to see what they looked like.

Sorry no pictures.

Nice finds David! My wife and I are going to antique stores and estate sales every weekend. I am finding great razors that are averaging $3 a piece. In fact, several weekends ago we found a Gillette Slim in the box marked $2.99. Looking for them is so much fun! I just know that one day we will stumble across an Aristocrat or Toggle for $5!!!

Great finds. It's nice to find great steals.

A few months ago my wife went to a flea market and picked me up a razor for $5 (actually $6 ... cost her a $1 to get in). She called me to say that she found a razor and bought it because "it looked ok". Much to my surprise she scored a Gillette No.58 w/ case - other than some crud on it, it was in excellent condition!
