There is no use in signing off.. I will be up to the wee hours from the awesome coffee I drank tonight, and will drink every MORNING from now on.......
Does anyone here (other than Jim) like the smell of Brut? I can get this fragrance for the shaving soaps if you guys like it. I just don't know anyone who likes it....

Brut?
Yes, I would buy it.
Aqua velva, too, by the way. A line of old classics, like your New Spice, Brut, Aqua Velva would be great!
I would also like to see a pine+menthol+eucalyptus soap, with emphasis on the pine scent.
Take care,
Giovanni

Nice picture, Jim. The SOTD pic is wonderful, with the light playing on the products. Very nice!
Um, one question though. How many people were you making lather for?

I tried the new formulation yesterday, and I agree the lather is most profuse. Awesome product.

I got mine the other day, and yep. It is FINE.
I got the most clean smooth generally perfect three pass shave I think I've gotten to date, in fact. Of course, the new feather in the Futur helped, a combination that I have only recently started trying, and which is working very well for me. I did find the lather not super slick. Slick enough, just not super slick. But that is possibly a faulty water ratio on my part. At any rate, I cannot fault the end result.
The Beau Brummel also smells AMAZING. The only problem is that by the third pass, my face was burning something awful. REALLY really burning. I guess I am going to have to regretfully let this one go. The good news is that the other flavors I ordered also smell great. Hopefully they will not have any oils that irritate me.
Yummy stuff.
I also tried the GIT type colonge. Nice scent. No idea how close to Creed it is, because I have never tried that. It was very mild it seemed - I had to apply fairly liberally. Which is fine, especially given the amazing price.

I am curious if the irritation we often attribute to the essential or fragrance oils in the soap are actually due to that or to the fact that soap might not be fully cured and the pH is still off? This is no slight to MB at all (or any of our other beloved soapers on this board). I recall reading Old Saw's (the other Dennis') post where he tried, I believe, a Honeybee soap and it stung like crazy. He let it alone for a week or two, tried again and no problems.

That could be. However I personally seem to have a heavy reaction to the FO's that Mammabear uses. I tried 5 of her soaps and only 1 is tolerable. And that one (she tells me) has mostly EO's not FO's in it.

I tried the amazing smelling Christmas Forest yesterday, with equally good shaving success, but much better facial sensation. I did get a little tingle, but not bad, and it smelled SO good. This one I keep.
Btw, for anyone wondering, it has a very strong pine, that hits you first. Kind of like QED Pine and Cedarwood. But then it has these warm spicy things going on too. Kind of like standing next to the christmas tree, while someone is baking the goodies in the next room.

I've never tried these soaps before, but I believe (after reading her website) that they are all glycerine based. If that's the case, there should be no need to let them cure.
