The original price on this seemed extremely high. I am not surprised at the fall.

I am curious, how do you know it is a 49? I have a 48-50 Super-Speed, i.e. no date code, but was not sure how to figure out which year it was from.

47 - no notch - cardboard box (left in pic)
48 - notch - cardboard box (different from 47 box)
49 - notch - red styrene box
50 - I believe are the prototype date code V but I bet some no date codes were sold as well that year.

Basically there's no way to tell the difference between the 48, 49 without the case.

Thanks, you eliminated 1950 off my possibilities. I either have a 48 or 49. Good info!

So I must ask. If you take a 48 out of the box and put it in the plastic case, does it become a 49?

The Derbys did it for you! So now we all know; if you can't get it sold, after a couple of days, just throw in a pack of Derbys
