Hey, I'm trying to keep the addiction to a minimum. I've seen where it's taken people like you to. Say hello Betty Ford Shaving Clinic.
Actually it was a gift from a fellow shaver. I was able to get him to part with one blade and that took a lot of talking for a blade swap. What can I say? He loves his Israelis.

I've been planning on getting to Target to pick up the Proraso (Omega) brush and a tube of Proraso cream as part of a "welcome to DE shaving" kit for my son-in-law. I was visiting a friend at her very "girly" gift shop and among the soap products I spotted an "Omega Shaving Brush & Soap Set". The brush looks to be the usual Omega bore that we see at Target and the included "soap" is a tub (5.2 oz.) of Proraso cream. It also includes a brush stand. $17.99

Great starter set up - I think the soap in a tub is better than the tube, although I enjoy both very much.

Here it is, Wednesday, and I am posting news of my first purchase of the week. Hmmm...I wonder if something is wrong with me: I am off to a much slower start than I was last week!
Today's goodies include a Mama Bear's "Gentlemen's Blend (New Recipe)" shaving soap (what a lovely scent!) and a Kent BK12 brush in pure badger. The second shot shows the BK12 taking its place of honor alongside my C&E Edwin-Jagger, Omega, and Taylor's.
After some careful analysis and extensive consultation in dictionaries and a thesaurus, I can safely offer the following description of the BK12: FREAKIN' HUGE! I picked this up from CraigK from the B&B selling forum. I am not sure if I will use it tomorrow or wait until an opportunity where three or four other people are shaving with me!
Cheers,

It is very hard to admit to being brush-rich when you are suffering from SBAD. Even before I have had a chance to lather-up the BK12 I am enticed by this new posting for a Kent T12 (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=6515). I have been intrigued by the Corian handles on the brushes from Superior. What are they like in your hand? Are they heavy? Are they easy to grip when wet or covered in lather?
Thanks,

Not heavy at all, but there is a bit of heft. Like comparing a Merkur HD Classic with a Merkur thin Long Handle. More importantly, these brushes are well balanced. The longer handle is great for whipping up lather. This is my second brush, my 4th to use...I'll own more. I'll use this the rest of the week and post up a review.

Salter: Sandalwood, Citrus, Mint
TOBS: St. Charles, Mr. Taylor, Shaving Shop
QED Soap: Lavender, Peppermint, Tangerine & Spearmint, Wild Orange
QEDman: French Green Clay, After Shave Conditioner
The Salter's smell OK, but will probably come out better once I lather them.

Just got my 5/8 J.A. Henckels Twin Works "70-1/2" straight today. Fantastic condition (got it off Ebay). The blade is nicely grayed, and the handles have some thumbnail like indentations, but other than that is perfection...it even came nice and sharp.

I have picked-up a few razors off eBay lately, so I decided to get one of these to use in their sterilization. I bought this at the local Sally's Beauty Supply. They did not carry the smaller versions, but I thought that this large size jar actually offers the most flexibility. I filled only the bottom 6" or so for sterilizing the razors.

This is what I like about B&B reviews on the whole. People are willing to give a product some time before they come to their final conclusion. This fosters reviews that are much more even in their criticism, whether they be good or bad.
Look forward to reading yours.

I like it a lot, though I don’t have your talent. But I’m learning, I’m learning… I recently bought a macro lens and I agree with your statement a lack of zoom forces you to think more about what you’re going to photograph.

one tub Taylor's Avocado
one tub Taylor's Lavender
Samples of Coral skin food and Hydrolast thanks to Charles and his lovely wife. I spent some time with both of them and I will say it was very pleasant and not one attempt to sell me any of his stuff. He went as far as complementing my shaving tools and choices of creams. we talked about blades, razors and brushes. He mentioned he is working on some new products that will porbably be on the market by late October. A very pleasant visit indeed.

I am sitting in my hotel room in Boston at the moment without my camera so no photos today.
I just came back from a walk through Copley Place. There are lots of great stores to visit in that large shopping mall / complex: C&E, l'Occitane, AOS, and Bigelow. In addition, stores like The Body Shop, Sephora, Saks, and others also have shaving supplies. I picked up the following:
AOS:
- Lemon shaving cream tub
- Lemon ASB
C&E:
- $35 Edwin-Jagger Best Badger brush
- l'Occitane
- Shaving stick ("Haemostatic & Astringent")
- Tube key
- CADE shaving cream tube
- CADE after shave
Cheers,
Danny

Jim,
Can you tell me where this coffee is from? Following a few suggestions from some gentlemen on the forums, I am looking for a quality Sumatra coffee. A low acid coffee will let me enjoy coffee without acid reflux problems.
Thanks.

Jim,
Thanks for the reply. I sent an e-mail but have yet to get a return. Looking to see how long it might take to ship some Sumatra to Pittsburgh.
