View Full Version : hand grinder vs. expensive auto
I am wondering how one of the Zassenhaus hand grinders compare to the more expensive electric grinders.

I have a Zass turkish mill for traveling. It does a great job and the quality of the grind is quite good but is a lot of work that can wear your hand out. The knee mills may be easier to use. At home, I only use my Macap. The only exceptions to this is when a hurricane (like Rita or Ike) knocks my power out. Then I'm really happy having the Zass because with it, a camp stove, and a pour over brewer I'm having the best coffee in town!:lol:

whitebar has outlined the dis/advantages.
But to emphasize the point -- if you're in a hurry trying to get out the door, you may not have 15-20 minutes to grind by hand.
