Moisturizer

With winter fast approaching, I'm going to need some face moisturizer. So I need your help.

I filched some of my sister's moisturizer from her apartment recently (she uses Clinique) but it was terrible for me. It just didn't absorb into my skin, and as a result my skin felt greasy.

I have relatively oily skin, but nothing excessive. Also while I'm at it I'm going to need a hand cream too (my hands get ridiculous in the winter). What brand do you gents use?

For oily skin I always hear great things about Baxter's Oil Free Moisturizer.

I haven't used a high end hand cream yet, but I've heard mostly good things about those from Jack Black and Nancy Boy.

If you have really dry skin, this Kiel's Creme De Corps (http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/catalog/product.aspx?CatCode=AXE_Body&TopCat=F1_Moisturizers_Body&prdcode=259) is awesome!

It is great for hands & body during the winter time. It is a very thick, rich lotion.

Try Truefitt&Hill Advanced Facial Moisturizer (http://www.menessentials.com/oxid.php/sid/x/shp/oxbaseshop/cl/details/cnid/d1a40c34de4841a93.59840424/anid/a46441ef2aa4db114.61191749)!!! Expensive? It may look that way, BUT......a pea size amount is more than adequate to coat your face. Especially, if it is still wet from washing. I have been using the one tube I have for the past four months and I have not made a dent in it. I also have oily skin at times. This absorbs easily and is extremely light.

As I posted in your review thread, I'm loving the stuff so far, but OP said he has oily skin so I thought an oil free might be better.

Neutrogena has some stuff with SPF in it. I think it called Facial Moisturizer. I use the Razor Defense ASB and like it.

You could mix aloe vera gel with glycerin... This will give you a moisturizer that works really well, but is oil free.

Hmm. The Truefitt is a bit more than I want to spend (even though, yes, I realize that moisterizers last forever).

Has Anyone tried the Baxters? I don't need anything too strong, I'm primarily concerned with the moisterizer absorbing well, and not leaving any film on my face.

Sue, forgive me if I'm being woefully ignorant, but where can I get those things individually? Also what would the mixture ratio be?

When I use a moisturizer I usually use a Neutrogena one. You can find it easily in the "girly" section of most drug stores... they make several types (SPF, no SPF, etc) and they are reasonably priced.

You can pick these up at any drugstore.. just mix 9 parts aloe to 1 part glycerin. This will give you a really moisturizing blend with no oils at all... I have oily skin too! I can't use oils on my face or I will break out...

Go with Menscience. It's non greasy, goes on matte, & contains Salicylic Acid to combat skin irritation. Because of the acid I would not recommend applying this immediately after shaving.

Go to qed and pick up a bottle of maleface moisturizer.....it absorbs very well with out the greasy feeling and during the winter months I also use it as a a/s. For a hand cream I really enjoy L'Ocitane's hand cream...absorbs well and has a nice scent, I used this twice a day this past winter and my hands were always nice and smooth.

Great, the Maleface sounds like what I'm looking for. I've been meaning to pick up some of the French Green Clay, so its good timing.

As for the L'Occitane hand cream:mellow: ...there's a L'Occitane store near my apartment, but I've been reluctant to go in for fear of what (or more specifically, how much) I'll leave with.:a23:

I recently discovered Thayers( the witch hazel people) moisturizing lotion:

water
sesame oil
vegetable stearate
oils of lavender
cucumber
chamomile
witch hazel
glycinate
aloe vera
chlorophyll

the cholorphyll is the best part

I like creme de la mer handcream. It is extremely moisturizing but not greasy.

Creme de la mer also makes a great oil-free moisturizer.

I tried the khiels mentioned prior and have found their products to be greasy / oily.
