Most aftershaves do have alcohol in them, at least the ones I have use, so you may get if not a burn then at least a tingle no matter what. Having said that Dominica Bay Rum is fairly mild and has clean, refreshing bay rum scent.
You may also want to consider an aftershave balm. Saint Charles Shave (http://www.saintcharlesshave.com/aftershave.asp)makes excellent balms and Sue does make a bay rum version. The Bar Rum w/Twist (lime) is real winner.

Masters is pretty easy in the alcohol kick department. Settles into a nice powdery, bay-rum scent. Easy on the pocketbook too.

I find both Masters and Ogallaha to be fairly mild in the burn department.

Masters was the first one to come to mind as being an easy going, hardly any burn bay rum a/s. However, Ogallala burns the crap out of my face.

Ogallala burns worse than any other Aftershave I have, but if you're a fan of Bay Rum it's worth the pain.. smells wonderful!

+1 for Masters Bay Rum AS, I prefer it to the Clubman in both scent and the burn factor. Got mine in a big bottle at Sally's Beauty Supply.

Although some others have complained about the burn from Ogallala, it never does that on my face. I would recommend it highly.

When I first used it, I noticed a slight sting with the AS. The trick is to shake the bottle and mix the ingredients like you would salad dressing. A few shakes wont do, esp. with the Cologne. The product has clove oil, if I am not mistaken, and it can irritate the skin if not mixed properly. I didn't mix the Cologne enough one time and it looked like a was blushing for a few minutes. Of all the BR stuff I have tried, Ogallala smells the best, VMMV.

Lustray Bay Rum lotion is an excellent "low-alcohol" concoction. :thumbup1:

I'll second that opinion.

Ogallala AS was reformulated early last year to reduce the "burn" -- it is much better now -- I use it frequently and it has little sting even on "blade bites".

I have Pinaud's and love it. I have the Ogallala bottle on the way, I hope I like it too.

I know the OP's not into it, but I splashed on some Pinaud Bay Rum today. It gets sporadic use in my rotation, and I'm not sure why. I love this smell. A nice sweet and spicy aroma very pleasing to the olfactory senses. I'm thinking it will get more use in the winter. Looking at the bottle you'd think it's some kind of summertime, island breeze splash, but for me it's reminiscent of a fireside moment sipping on a hot toddy with a few feet of snow on the ground and frosted window panes. Not that we have snow or I have a fireplace here in the Valley, but you know what I mean.

The aftershave I keep at work right now for afternoon use is a 1:2 Masters:Pinaud mix. The Pinaud is too "dry" and sharp a scent for my tastes, and the Masters is sweet almost to the point of cloying. This ratio, though, seems to give me the complexity and "bite" of the Pinaud tempered with the sweetness of the Masters.

You sir, are a wild man! I might have to give this a go as I too have both these Bay Rum flavors. Hmmm...we now have AS terminology to compliment the soap and cream superlather.

Yes, I like it.

A little more exacting than superlathers . . . I measured using graduated one-mL syringes left over from old saltwater aquarium water test kits. In the end, I was left with a precise 1:2 ratio that had a nice balance of sweet and dry. When mixing scents, the more precise you can be, the better. Measure drops from eyedroppers if you don't have anything graduated in small increments.
