Does anyone else experience what I have termed Shadow? After I shave even when I really take my time, multiple passes and my face is bbs, or as close to it as I get at this point, I still have a blackish-blue cast on my skin from my beard. I can't feel a thing, but I can see it, this is primarily on my moustace region and chin. Is there anythin I can do about it? Now I should say that I have dark brown hair and very light skin so I know that contributes to the problem.

I have friends who have that as well... one of them started the Straight razor shave and says it has improved for him. The other refuses to convert to proper shaving. Sorry I can't help you any more then that. I'm a blond bearded fellow myself so people don't even notice my beard untill after the 3rd day without shaving.

Check out letterK's post on "Derby's make me look good" for a possible reason/solution.

Tim, me too. My beard's pitch black, and I'm olive skinned, so when I'm unshaven, I look filthy dirty. Even after a good shave with a DE, I see some shadow, but when I take a good straight razor shave, like I did today, just about all the shadow disappears.

I've seen several times it reported that straight cuts better than the DE, can anyone explain why, also is this true over time, with multiple stropes.
How can it be that straights are better than DE when we use fresh and freshly sharpened blades with DE vs. recycled for straight.
as well do you "straight" guys go against the grain with a straight.
