I'm trying to play mp3s from my computer to an LG Voyager. I can put them on the microSD card, but I can't get the music player in the phone to recognize them. I've heard if I relabel the folder which contains the music properly on the card I can play them, is this true and if so how so?
Thanks!
I think the problem could be the folders. I'm not sure about your phone but my chocolate can't recognize any mp3s in folders.
If that doesn't work I think you can try formatting your sd card, but on your phone. This was the first thing I did and it added all the correct folders too.

Hi Tim, I had this problem with an Lg Env and once I set it up to sync with Windows Media Player it solved the problem. Also, Verizon has their Music Manager software you can use but you need the usb cable for your phone.
If you use windows media player you can set it to sync music to the sd card and not have to use usb cable and phone. But I agree, format the card on your phone and it'll set up the proper folders to it like my flix, my pix etc.

I don't even use windows (I'm a linux geek) so that's the problem. I've heard there is a way to title the folders specifically and the phone will recognize them, sadly I don't know what that is and unfortunately google hasn't been any help so I was hoping someone here at B&B would know. :bored:

The folders are titled:
My Pix
My Flix
My Music
My Sounds
Again, you can going into your phone's settings->memory and format the sd card. This should give you the proper folders. If your phone is like my chocolate, you cannot have subfolders in My Music folder. Once the mp3s are in My Music the mp3s will instantly sync to your phone.

I'm pretty sure this is how my LG VX-8xxx was setup; I just stuck my mp3s in the music folder, and was done. Try formatting the mem card from the phone, which should create the folders required. When I can track down my converter to let my plug the microSD into an SD slot, I'll double-check.

I'll second (or third) what others have said. You have to put the card in your phone and format it. Then you can remove the card, plug it into your computer, and dump the mp3's into the music folder. I refuse to pay for specialized music software or fancy proprietary cables required to pad the pockets of LG and Verizon, so I do it this way, and it works just fine. There is one caveat, though. When you sync music through the proper methods, they will include licenses for the mp3's. If you just drag and drop onto a microSD card, the licenses don't always transfer over, and some songs won't play this way. If anybody knows of a way around this, I'd like to hear it. No, this isn't an issue of illegally obtained music. All my mp3's are from my own CDs.
