I shave with a Merkur slant and feather blade and they make a perfect pair. I also have a r89 open comb which I think is pretty aggressive and I'm wondering if I should try it with a Feather blade. This razor IMO requires a lot of care or it will bite.
Any suggestions?

To me the slant is a little bit easier to use than the R89 but I prefer the Mühle because it gives me more control over the shave.
There are feathers waiting in the cupboard but haven't used them yet (together with all the other brands waiting) so I can't give you any feedback on the combo.
All I can say about the R89 is that it is a great shaving tool as long as you can keep your attention to it. In my opinion this is the best razor around these days but you won't like it when you are an absent minded shaver!!

I'll try the combination during my Sunday shave; if I get mangled, I won't have to go to work.
I'll post the results

Were I to give any advice I would say go slow. Looking forward to reading your results.

This is how it went
R89 with a new feathers
AofS lavender oil (I'm not a fan of oil, but...)
DR Harris lavender soap the old type with lanolin with a bit of AofS lavender cream; lather made in a scuttle with a shavemac (somehow I feel that lavender is best for agressive blades)
Like Ontario suggested i went slow, paying a lot of attention to the angle and total concentration.
3 passes and just two tiny red dots, one in the neck and one below lower lip, no razor burn. The face was smooth and uncut but it definitely was a slow shave...Only on Sundays? I will do it again, the same way.
I think that like all cutting tools the sharpest blades cut easier and faster but pressure and angle are important. I always get best results in the slant with the feathers and that is why I decided to try it in the Muehle.

I think the R89 is typically a razor that will grow on you. When you like it on your 1st shave you will like it a lot more in 6 months or so.
Congratulations!

It is becoming a favorite for me too. I'll continue using it more often even at the risk of growing too confident
