Let's see your scores for the week here!
I just got this lovely brush knowing it's a shedder. Hopefully I can send it to Bernd to be re knotted. If anyone has any info on this brush please let me know.

Looks a lot like a vintage Simpson Polo... maybe a rebranded one?

That's what I was thinking. Although, it is smaller than the polo of today. I guess redleaf is the company it was make for:confused:

I concur with my esteemed friend from Belgium, stauff....
very "Polo-ish" NICE CATCH!
In the Simpson catalog there are several logos from companies that the Somerset shed made for rebranded purpose....best guess...
thanks guys! I think a 21mm knot with a two band 45mm loft would look great on this brush:w00t:

Went up north with the family to Ruttgers Lodge in Deerwood Minnesota for a family wedding this weekend. On Sunday we drove up to Crosby where there are quite a few antique stores and this is what I found.
* a 1940 something Gillette
* an Erik Antonberg Eskilstuna Swedish Straight
* a Wade and Butcher with wood scales
I shaved with the Gillette this morning and didn't feel anything happening.
Aftershave felt like water, no burn whatsoever, but the shave was nearly BBS.
Weird but very cool.
Was wondering if any of you know what the best method is for restoring the wood scales on the Butcher they look great but need finishing.
Thanks,
Sean
This one came last week but I never got a pic up. Not in the condition the seller led me to believe it was in.

My great-grandfather's shaving mug. It's a T & V made in Limoges, France. I'll try to post pics up soon. It had his name on it, but it's since worn off over the years, but in the right light at the right angle, you can make out where the letters used to be. Wondering if I should have them re-painted/gilded on or just leave it as is. Interesting color choice (cranberry?) and design.
EDIT: Here's the pics:

Picked this fisherman's set off the bay. Sealed blade pack, with instructions, and the razor is still clipped in to the cardboard.

Nice one Rodd, only the third one I've seen besides Chris's and mine.
Interesting note, ours both came with the Blue Tip.
BTW...I just took a closer looked and saw some knots starting to appear....
Interesting. Actually Chris' is also a regular, but a different set. I haven't seen a picture of yours. I did not realize there were so few around. Here is a pic of Chris' set. He has given me permission to use his pictures. Very interesting that there are 3 known, and all 3 are different. (I don't get the knot comment, sorry, I am a little slow today)

Today I got:
-5/8 Waterville with horn scales
-TOBS sampler pack with a few aftershaves :)
I try to justify my RAD by telling myself: You try different razors and will only keep the ones you prefer...
Yeah right. And they say wet shaving is cheaper...
