I got my sample pack from C&S this morning and had to try Cuba first. This might be the one that I have been looking for. Its so complex that I cant even begin to describe it. There are very clear tobacco and lime notes. Im also getting bit of a refined bay rum type note as well.

This isn't my first C&S experience. I got a 15ml decent of No 88 from the decant club. As much as I enjoy it the scent just isn't for me. However, a few things are clear. C&S has wonderful quality, complexity, uniqueness and earthiness.

As long as it doesn't smell like Fidel...

I agree, I only wish it lasted longer on me. I have tried the sample a couple of times and it seems to be gone after a few hours. I am going to try and put on a bit more next time.

You mean Raul (lesser Castro). Fidel is ancient history

To each their own...but I really didnt like this cologne. Only one I liked from C&S was the Franken and Muir.

I've been working my way through a sample of C&S Cuba. I really like it. It's very unique and reminds me of drinking a Margarita while perusing the contents of a humidor. It dries down to something somewhat subdued, but retains it's complexity throughout. I find it has plenty of staying power on me, but I haven't had the problem of short lived scents with many products I've tried.

I've been intrigued by C&S Cuba for a while, but I haven't gotten the chance to try it out...I love the tobacco notes in Aramis' Havana & Havana Reserva, can anyone comment on similarities/differences between these and Cuba? Are they worlds apart?

I can't make a comment on similarities, but C&S will send some samples if you request them. I got the No. 88 and Cuba in a few days time. Very good, prompt customer service on C&S' part. I wish I'd specified more than those two. I assumed they would throw in one of each of the whole line as it's not that big.

I may just do that. If you get a chance, you should try to score a sample of their Neroli. It's really, really good! I found the No. 88 to be well constructed, but not really my cup o' tea.

I am going through the samples kindly sent to me by Czech and Speake. The Cuba was not balanced enough for me; it was too earthy and almost sour with no sweetness.
