I'm bleeding quite heavily into my bathroom sink. I'm getting a bit weak from blood loss, but the phone is in the kitchen, meaning I will have to cross about twenty feet of carpet to call for help. We just had it put in, and my wife will kill me if I get blood all over it. I've saturated all the towels in this room, but is there another way to staunch the bleeding so I can make a dash for it? I'll need an answer quite quickly.

BTW, I tried styptic. It stung but didn't work so well.

If a tree fall in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

1. The egg. The first egg wasn't laid by a chicken. It was laid by a dinosaur. But it was a deformed egg. A birth defect It hatched out a chicken. Probably the parents were cousins or something.

2. By being your own grandpa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I'm_My_Own_Grandpa. But why would you be so mad at him in the first place?

3. No. All you would see are "zip" lines, like in the funny papers.

4. Of course it does. Just because you don't hear it doesn't mean there wasn't a sound. Haven't you ever tried to talk to an elderly hard-of-hearing relative who conveniently had his or her hearing aid turned off? "Uncle Lester, that's not the bathroom... you are peeing in the closet!" and he doesn't hear you, but you did say it, all the same. The tree fell. It made a big friggin crashy sound. All that zen riddle stuff is for retards. Of COURSE it makes a sound. What... you think it falls softly or something?

There. I answered all the questions... CORRECTLY.

<edit> Oh I forgot to answer the first one. The meaning of life? It's just a big cosmic game of Sim City. The Gods get bored, too. Isn't it obvious? Look at all the stuff that looks like somebody thought it was a good idea or that it made sense, but it really isn't/doesnt. It is an attempt at an orderly system that just doesn't quite work. It is all just too pat to be a big bunch of coincidences.

My questions are; To put a proper edge on it, would a bench grinder be suitable? What about a knife sharpener? Would that work? How come they don't make serrated strait edge razors that you wouldn't even need to sharpen? And finally, what is the air speed velocity of an unladen Swallow?

I think you got that backwards. Potential must be, before actuality can occur. If there is no potential, the thing obviously cannot come into existence. I stick with the incestuous mysogynist deformed mutant dinosaur theory.

It could be proven, but I am in Oman and there is no forest handy. The experiment would be simple. A digital audio recorder or tape recorder would be left on. A tree sawn nearly all the way through, kept upright by guys made of fiber rope. A candle would be secured across each guy and set alight. When the candle burns down to the rope, the tree would fall, and the audio recording would record the big crashy sound of the tree falling.

Ah-----you're not pressing hard enough!! LOTS of pressure and many, many, MANY passes are needed when shaving with the spine!! This is because you are basically wearing away the whiskers rather than shaving them as you would when using the more common "sharp edge" of the razor-----keep working on it! Ironically, shaving with the spine is safer than shaving with a 'safety-razor'!! Good Luck!

Well, a P-14 uses a 14 round mag and with one up the spout that's 15 rounds of 230 grain .45ACP. Plus, if you hit what you are shooting at, you should need fewer rounds of .45 than 9mm to correct a situational deficiency.

For carry I have a p10 which is smaller than a colt officers model. The new kid on the block is the warthog which addresses some reliability issues in the p10. Both are really small and have 11rd capacity. I will trade off two rounds for the increased power any day. If I need half of those 11 rounds I am in big big trouble anyway. That gives a whole new meaning to the term "double taps" . Sort of 2,,,2 mints in one! Or when you're just too lazy to pull the trigger a second time. And are guns going the way of razors where this is the Trac 2. Lets see how many guns can get stacked together to make a Mach 5.
