Decent scotch and gin for me
I'd like to expand my knowledge of blended scotches, since it pretty much starts and ends with J&B with me, and i enjoy reading about single malts, so... they'd be my two picks.

Gin & Tonic with a twist of lime! Good enough for a cologne! LOL!

You could, probably wouldn't matter though. Your lucky Tim even added it to the poll.

Brown Spirits
Any Brown Spirit
Only Brown Spirits
No alcohol-water for me, please (okay, maybe gin...and tequila can be pretty interesting, too - but noooooooo vodka!...New-make corn whiskey could be good, and maybe some cachaca if you really want to stretch it - but noooooo vodka!....I've been known to savor some herbal liqueurs, like Amaro and Cynar - but nooooooo vodka!)

Bourbon and Tequila for me. Throw in some Scotch and maybe Armagnac or Rum.
NO GIN OR VODKA! Yuck.

Gin and scotch. I haven't had much in the realm of scotch and wouldn't mind experiencing something new (if funds permit).
I'd like to learn more about Armagnac, especially...

Just looking to find our demographic here to and help pick the spirits that the most people would enjoy here at B&B.

I'm usually the first in line on the whisk(e)y train but I'm going to vote for Armagnac because I feel it is tragically under appreciated.

You could have voted for up to 5 different things.
I agree, Armagnac is terribly under appreciated.

This is just one man's opinion but to me it tastes more...artisinal if that makes sense. Great cognacs really are great but they just don't have something earthly and organic that I find in armagnac. Pardon the pun but a certain j ne sais quois if you will. Their flavors are bolder. I'm just rambling now.
I liken it to the difference between bourbon and tennessee whiskey. Very similar but different in subtle ways.

I agree with this. IMO, Armagnac is more rustic and not as sweet. I like both, but very much prefer Armagnac.
To be denotative, Armagnac is a different region than Cognac.

Well now I'm curious.
I just checked out my liquor comission's website
Château de Laubade 1929 Armagnac 375ml $495.00
to
St-Vivant v.s. Armagnac 750ml $32.50
Would the cheap bottle give me a decent idea of what Armagnacs are like?
(Sorry to derail so much)

It's no problem, but also feel free to start a thread specifically about Armagnac, if you really want to learn about it and discuss it.

Gotcha.
For what it's worth I'd like to see more rums, as they are good for both cold and warm weather drinks, and often moderately priced. And there is a wide variety of flavours to be found.

I am gonna throw another suggestion out there, I would really like some insight into good sherry. More fortified than a true spirit, but still maybe it can be included

And to Sherry, I'll add a request for Port. I'd definitely like to know more 'bout that.
(And for that matter, I think it's time for a balsamic vinegar thread.)

At this time we are just sticking to true spirits not fortified wines. But we'll keep these suggestions in mind.

Port, ah yes vintage port is a vice of mine, and keeping this strictly spirits someone should still start a port thread...
