Ok so the linen side of the strop it to take oxidation and residue off the blade before taking the blade to the leather. So what are your thoughts. Of this, after shaving wiping the blade dry then spraying or soaking the blade in alchol then puting it up to dry. the alchol would displace all water leving nothing to oxidize and no soap or cream residue should be left. would this help keep a edge longer on the blade.

Exactly what I do. I also leave the razor open over night so any water in the scales long has dried before I put it away. I do so to make sure all the water is displaced from the blade.
I continue to strop with linen and leather before the next shave. I don't think my alcohol dip helps maintain an edge. I do think it prevents black spots and potential rust.

Alcohol is hygroscopic so spraying the blade with it and allowing it to air dry may be counterproductive. Spraying the blade with alcohol or dunking it, then wiping it dry, might be a safer approach, but simply running the hottest water you have available over the blade and then wiping it dry may work as well.

good luck, good shaving,
