How to store hanging DOVO strop?

I purchased one of DOVO's extra wide strops, and currently I have it hanging in my room. I was wondering if I need to store it anywhere, rather than leaving it hanging around, in order to protect the leather? Winter is coming, and I don't know what the cold will do to it. I have purchased a tube of Dovo's strop dressing (yellow tube I think), to maintain the strop. Can I use this to avoid putting the strop away when I don't use it, to keep it healthy?

Leave it hang, it'll be fine.

If it starts to feel like it is drying out put a SMALL dab of the yellow goo on there. But really it will work better if you don't put anything on it if you can.
