It was my birthday yesterday and I got a new Merkur HD and Vulfix #2235 super badger brush.
This replaces the proraso brush and gilette travel razor I'm been using for a month.
What an upgrade!
THe lather just explodes from the badger! I'm going to cut my usual 1 inch squeeze of the proraso in half.
The biggest difference is in the HD, though. What a heftier, more secure way to get the job done. It was super smooth with my walmart personnas.
I have to say, though, that I don't think I would have had the same experience had I not learned on the lightweight travel razor. It really taught me the importance of a quick light stroke. If I started with the HD, I'm pretty sure I would have wielded it a little more aggressively due to its heft.
Anyway, I did a 5 pass with the HD and redefined BBS to myself.
