Please help identify this razor
I picked this up on eBay because it is a black vintage adjustable and I thought it looked cool. Most importantly, I am in search of the perfect DE to shave my head with. :) Could some one please help identify this? Also, is there any kind of guide to reading the imprinted codes? The stamped codes inside the razor are “G 2”. After playing with this razor a bit, I really like the long handle and the adjustable butterfly head. Thanks for any help!

I believe that is a super adj. It is the one with the plastic under the head and a little different pattern in the handle than the others.

Yes, it has plastic under the head and the black looks more like a powder coat than paint. Though I am not sure. Is it the codes that indicate it is from 1986 or is it just that you happen to know this razor? Any idea of how this will be to shave a dome? Thanks for the help!

You can check the wiki up top to see how the date codes tell the year. I have shaved with a 70 model of that razor for a long time. But do not shave my head can not share information on that. Good luck and enjoy.

The letter identifies the year and the number tells what part of the year it was made. I don't remember what the black is, but I think I recall it being said it is not paint.

Thanks gentlemen. I found the aforementioned WIKI page so that I can identify future vintage (or not vintage in this case) purchases on my own now. New England is an Antique heaven. Hence, I cannot wait to hit the road and paw through the stores to see what treasures lie in wait :)
