Good evening gents. I thought I would pass along some interesting information I discovered quite by accident yesterday. The wife and I have used Bunnomatic home coffee makers since we were married nearly 15 years ago. To be honest, they are the best home coffee makers I have ever used. Period. The first one lasted ten years. It was given to us as a wedding gift from my parents. At that time you could pick one up at Wallly World for about $36. Dirt cheap given its performance. When it finally gave up the ghost five years ago, we promptly went looking for a replacement. Imagine my surprise when I found they'd tripled in price! Anywhere from $99-115 depending on store. I guess Bunn figured out they had something good there. So we figured it was worth the price since we had gotten such great value from the first one. We were not disappointed. Till yesterday. It gave up on us without a whimper. Hmmm. Five years for a $100 appliance did not make me too happy. I went to Bunn's site to find a contact number so I could chat with them about parts. I found only a reference to a service center and its 800 number. Out of luck I thought. Oh well, another hundred was about to be spent. Then I noticed a recall notice for certain Bunn coffee makers. I went to the link and found that our model is indeed part of the recall. So I register our appliance and find a link to a page that offers a part to fix it or an offer to exchange it for about half price. I took the latter option. I don't know if our problem is related to the recall or not but Bunn was fine doing the exchange so I said YES. Anyroad, if you have one of these machines, it may be worth going to Bunn's site and checking it out. It worked out for us but I do wish we'd have gotten just a bit more life out of it.

Regards, Todd

Crazy... my dad swears by the Bunn-o-Matics too. I'll tell him to check it out. Thanks Todd!

Did the malfunction that led to the recall cause the problem which killed your machine? If it did I would have taken the fix-it option and saved the 50 or 60 bucks. If they couldn't fix it I would have asked for a replacement for free. Just me though. I'll take a look at that brand next time I get a new coffee maker.

I'm not sure stobes. It looks like it is just some gimmicky heat shield thing you can add yourself. Mine just died and...I didn't ask too many questions.

Is this a recall from a year or two ago, or a new one? I took advantage of it awhile ago, and got a new and updated brewer for around $50. I love these Bunn machines. Hot coffee in about 3 minutes. Now I'm spoiled by the old models that take so long!

Wow! Thanks for posting that. Mine just missed, but my whole family use Bunns, too, so I alerted them.

Mine is not on the list! That's a relief, the thought of waiting longer than 3 minutes for coffee had me frightned.
