Okay, I just purchased my first straight (from EBay) and now I need a strop. Unfortunately, I'm a very impatient person and do not want to order online and wait for delivery.

Where in Los Angeles, Ca can I purchase a good starter strop?

Also, where can I get a good tutorial on how to strop and how to shave with a straight?

Thanks

As your friends, we decided not to answer your question for a week in order to help you gain some patience. I drew the short straw so I will now help you.

If you insist on getting a strop ASAP, then Classic Shaving (http://www.classicshaving.com/page/page/522944.htm) is your best bet. It's located in North Palm Springs, CA. If after your one week patience test, you've decided that a few days don't matter, then I suggest you contact Tony Miller of The Well Shaved Gentleman (www.thewellshavedgentleman.com) fame. As for the tutorial, there is the Interactive Guide to Straight Razor Shaving (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=28547) and here (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=16837&highlight=strop) is a video by one of our members.
