View Full Version : Lyrt's Entry into the B&B Hall of Fame

Lyrt

Please allow me to introduce myself:

Username:
Lyrt

What is your real name?
Yukio

What are your nicknames/aliases?
Lyrt

Where do you live?
France

What is your age (or) generation?
28

What are you in the real world?
Err… That would be “subtitler”. The cash-cow part of the job is translating things.

What is your favorite shave setup?
I have not experienced many products yet, but I’m catching up quick. Currently, that would be:
Feather AC DXS, super pro blade
ToOBS Sandalwood cream
Vulfix #2236
Dior’s Dune aftershave lotion (not balm)

What are your hobbies and favorite activities?
Coffee, reading, listening to music, sport.

What else should the members of B&B know about you?
– I live in France, was mostly educated in France, French is my first language, but the truth is I’m actually half-Luxembourgian and half-Japanese.

– Fanboyism is great, contrary to what was stated in this thread (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5007). I agree you can achieve a great shave with inexpensive paraphernalia, but one of the pleasures of wet shaving is to be found in the great variety of (not necessarily expensive) products you can try.

– As I already stated in another topic: “I don’t post much because I feel I’m not experienced enough to offer insightful opinions. Once I’ll be knowledgeable about creams and other stuff, I’ll post a metric megaton of reviews so I can contribute as much as I learned from all of you guys.”

Welcome to B&B Yukio!

Any experience you have will be an addition to the collective-so do not let your 'lack thereof' prevent you from posting.

You will be assimilated!

Merci à toi, mais c’est LE bienvenu. Si j’étais une femme, mes histoires de rasage de barbe auraient quelques relents malsains. Hé hé...

Un grand salut amical à tous les Québécois.

Welcome to B&B.

It is great to have you aboard and I look forward to you metric megaton of posts about various creams and such. I am trying to try out a large amount of products as well. The only problem is the limited budget, it will just take me a little longer.

No problem, Sir. I’m a grammar ninja in my job, but not on forums, so I won’t correct every mistake you’ll make either.

Hi Yukio ,

a bit belate WELCOME , but I was reading your hall of fame entry the link you send me in a PM.

Let me first tell you yes its not often you find people from France who write English so well as you do. ( not to diss French people but to me they mostly appear to me as if they do not want to learn or speak any other language then French. )

Anyways enjoy your stay and thanks for your big order this guy cleaned me out almost of all my Mama Bear soap.. hilarious.

I'll send you a free sampler pack of blades aswell to speed up your assimilation

Do you speak Japanese ? if I say O genki Desuka ? you know what I wrote ? ( I have the course Japanese for busy people )

Yukio, as I said earlier, your English is fabulous, it may even be better than mine! La plupart des fois, les quebecois me critiquent, parce que ma prononciation est differente que l'accent quebecois, mais moi, je m'en fous!
Bonne continuation!

Topic Resurrection!

Thank you again!

Do you speak Japanese ?
Yes I do. Translating Japanese is actually the most important part of my job.

En France, on se moque beaucoup de l’accent québécois, qui n’a finalement rien de plus choquant que le vaudois, le belge, le marseillais ou le jurassien. Mais tu as raison, on s’en tamponne le coquillard.
