I finally got to open the Slant barberpole that my wife ordered for my b-day on wednesday, knowing it was in the house was driving me nuts. Three days into using it all I can say is that's it's awesome. I was a little worried at first as some of the reviews led me to believe it was super aggressive and for shave experts only but so far me and it are a good match. Used with derby blades and bigelow cream I have got 3 of the best shaves of my life, and no blood or even irritation just a really smooth face and a real user friendly feel. I may never need to buy another razor:biggrin:

What about the Gold HD Slant? True, you may never need another razor, but what about want?

I've been thinking about buying a slant as well, but fears of it being super aggressive have held me at bay. I'm glad to hear that isn't the case for everyone. :001_smile

Do not fear the slant. Respect it.
as for myself I fear the gillete Fusion: the ingrowns, the drag, the price...:a48::a46::crying:

Funny I just posted a comment to the Slant's review. I got mine last Saturday and have been getting some glassy smooth shaves. I must be a bit weird because the Slant just doesn't seem any more aggressive than my HD - no really. I feed mine Derbys and stubble and it loves both.

hey football brother, tell me why to go to a slant. I use a Gillette Flair Tip and a Merkur HD. oh and also tell me you will pay for half the price.

Dunedinranger,
Want is an altogether different feeling. I have over 30 knives and each one I buy I tell myself it is the last one I'll need. Tell the wife the same thing too, she is less likely to believe it when I say it then I am at this point.
Having a 39c cures that *AD and frees up more cash to waste on cologne*
*in my case

A slant is the only DE razor to use - it makes all others pale in comparison and it is nowhere the animal that others claim it to be. Just be careful as normal and you will end up with a great great shave!! The only shave better is a straight razor!

Because you will get the closest shaves possible, unless you use a straight. Because you will enter shaving nirvana. Because you will get BBS Shaves with fewer passes and less irritation. Because resistance is futile and you know you've always wanted one.

Hmmm...think I'll shave with my slant tomorrow morning for old time sake

The slant *IS* the shaver from hell. If it does not kill you the instant it touches your face, then after the 13th shave the devil himself comes to your bathroom and steals your soul.

Love my 39c Slanthammer. BBS shaves in just a few passes with no irritation or cuts or nicks.
