So I went to Walgreens looking for the Bic Metals that everyone likes. Well, none of the 3 local ones had them (or even the empty spot where they should be) so I emailed Bic and asked where I could get some (someone had previously posted you'd get some free ones to boot). Less than a week later I find these in my P.O. Box:

Now that's fast service!
Oh, and they said this as well:
We are currently in the process of creating a new website where
consumers can purchase BIC Metal Shavers along with other hard-to-find
BIC products. We expect to have this website available by the end of
September.
Kudos to Bic!

wow, good job, nice score, and great information for us all

they shave well
they have the single blade performance of a DE, but they're very light - they are disposables, after all - and can lead to the temptation to use pressure; find the strength to fight that temptation, and you'll end up with a fine shave

I used these for about a month or so when I was weaning myself off of multi-blade disposables. Many have said they actually shave more like a Schick Injector than a DE. In any case, they were a good transition razor for me.

They are great for travel too. Especially when my DE blades get pinched by TSA:mad:

Pinched by the TSA?

I just flew in to Boston at the beginning of the week with a West Coast Shaving sampler in my Dopp kit and had no trouble with getting it through the checked baggage line. Didn't figure that I could get away with putting it in a carry on bag.

That's the rule. No problem in checked bags, but no go in carry-on. But, as one would expect, TSA doesn't always catch DE blades so some folks try it anyway.

I tried these Bic Metal one time and thought they were junk. Maybe I just got a bad batch though.

It's amazing what you can accomplish by means of a polite inquiry or complaint. Good job!

That's true. In a 2-martini fit of letter-to-the-CEO kind of stuff, I wrote to Timex asking why none of the men's watches (at the time) had indiglo AND date functions. Even though this was basically a semi-drunken rant for the sake of ranting and being semi-drunk, I got a letter explaining that they were being released at the time, a brochure, and a gift certificate that covered almost half the cost of the watch.:biggrin:
