at Bath and Body Works? I just picked up a C.O. Bigalow Poraso for the first time from the Queenstown B &BW (What the hell was I thinking not getting this before? This is the most amazing shaving cream under $10 out there, hands down), but I wanted to know if I needed to stock up.

Proraso Red is dead. The green and white are alive and well and living in Italy.

Back in late April, B&BW took it off their web site. I wrote to them and asked and two customer service reps said they were not carrying it any more. I made the mistake of posting about it. :frown: Within a couple weeks it was back on their web site. Sales people in the stores heard nothing about it being discontinued.

It seems like it was a panic over incorrect info from their customer service reps. As far as I know there are no plans to discontinue it - in fact, they have added the small travel size tube, and seem to be promoting it in several stores.

Others may have different information.

At a nearby B&BW they have had a large stock for months. Until I actually see it gone I won't believe it. As we see in many posts, the sales people don't know much.

Just bought the $5 smaller tube last week. They had several tubes plus all the other CO Bigelow products. BTW, you want a real face-numbing kick? Shave with it and then spash on the Proraso AS. Whew, like a popsicle man.

No Proraso? No Peace. Know Proraso. Know Peace.

So you're the guy my wife needs to blame for the six tubes of Bigelow under the sink?

Actually I called the local store when this was news. The clerk said the had loads of it and offered to hold a couple of tubes for me. I picked up a few at a time.

In my small home town we have at least 5 B&BW stores and none of them carry CO Bigelow/Proraso. I ended up getting my tube when I was in Denver.

I did (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=23517&highlight=proraso+dead). But I was referring to all the lamenting about Target dropping it.

I read in some previous posts that Target use to carry it but none of the stores I have been to carry it anymore.

I don't think B&BW is planning on dropping it anytime soon, I have seen them adding more and more of it to different stores.

Maybe they are just moving the dead stock to the stores where you guys have been scarfing it up.

Proraso is indeed alive & well. The COBigelow Bay Rum EDT however, has apparently went the way of the dinosaurs.

Went to B&BW last weekend to pick up some Proraso/C.O. Bigelow shaving cream to try it for the first time.

The good: after reading about Target dropping Proraso, I asked the store manager at B&BW if there were any plans to drop Proraso/C.O. Bigelow - she told me that while they may drop some of the C.O. Bigelow products, the shaving cream is a strong seller and she knew of no plans to drop the shaving cream. (This is from the South Coast Plaza store in Southern California, and this store carries the entire C.O. Bigelow product line).

The bad (for me): while I liked the shave I was able to get from this cream, my skin later (a few hours) reacted with redness and discomfort. I then read the ingredients and noted that the product contains sodium hydroxide, and I think my skin may be too sensitive for that.

The good (for me): I went and got some Tom's of Maine Mint shaving cream, and I'm very happy with it.

Not all B&BW stores are created equal ... depending on their floor space, they have to pick and choose what to display among the thousands of products the company carries. And if they have to cut some of their inventory down, its always the Men's products that get cut first.

Most strip-mall B&BWs are smaller 'satellite' stores, and only carry a limited product line. But the clerks will know which is the closest BIG store, where they should have just about everything in stock.

Someone in another thread scored the FULL Proraso product line (original, not Bigelow) by shopping at an Italian grocery store.
