L'Occitane Score today. Picked up more of their wonderful Eas des Bergers A/S as well as the CADE balm for samples (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5161). I grabbed a bunch of shave cream samples as well. Also snagged a nice Kenneth Cole watch which is much nicer than the picture shows. Lastly, a trip by the health food store yielded a Kiss My Face Lavender shave cream, not shown.

Okay guys- I have the full line of Proraso shaving stuff (minus the after shave splash) and am extremely satisfied with it, but I wanted to try some new stuff. I’m pretty sure the Trader Joe's shave cream is made by Alba. It smells really good and i can't wait to use it.

-CRABTREE & EVELYN Best Badger Brush
-CRABTREE & EVELYN Nomad Shaving Cream and Cologne
-Clubman Nick Relief
-Williams Mug Shaving Soap
-Trader Joe's Moisturizing Cream Shave: Honey Mango
-TARGET brand bowl (looks really cool for a shaving dish)
and i almost forgot- I bought this Caldo Small Tote for $14 (genuine leather) at Target this week and it came with a $5 gift card- GREAT VALUE!!! I can't wait to go on another vacation and pack up my shaving gear into this bad boy.

From TomH:
Pitralon Swiss a/s
Pitralon Classic a/s
Lider Polish shaving cream (a bonus!)
Traded for a tub of JM Fraser shaving cream and a bottle of the same company's Aquarius a/s.
Thanks Thomas!
I also got a 10 pack of Israeli blades from another member in exchange for 10 GEM blades.
Gotta love the trades!
Finally I recieved my Scotto super a/s sample package last week - great to get a bunch of goodies just before a weekend trip to the country!

The fact that its NIB makes it even better, as I don't have to worry about cleaning it!

Matt, that Tote bag sure looks nice. How's the quality?
Here's my new stuff since yesterday:
http://www.corporatedeathmatch.com/Acquisition20060904.jpg
Topleft is a gold plated Aristocrat in excellent condition. Even though it's used, there's no real wear noticeable! I can't find any datecode on it but maybe I'm looking at the wrong place (any help would be appreciated!)
Bottom left should normalle be a Gillette Rocket. It doesn't mention any datecode therefore I assume it's made in 1954. It's made in England. As you can see it is also in excellent condition! The weird color on the handle is due to the lighting and my rather limited digital camera. It's nicely clean and no rust or wear either.
On the right is what I think some sort of Gillette New in excellent condition. The handle is identical to this one (http://www.collectorsencyclopedia.com/imgins/0885A.jpg) although the head is a little different. No datecode on this one either.
I will upload a photo of my acquisitions of last week as well but I'll do that once my other stuff arrives. As you can see, RAD has kicked in in the purest way!
If I'm missing the ball on identifying these razors, please correct me then. I'm still a newbie in all this wetshaving world and certainly when it comes down to razor identification.
Arrived today from Canada:
-1 bottle of BOOSTER Aquarius A/S lotion
-1 tub of J.M Fraser shaving cream
For both of them a great THANK YOU Chris (Suzuki)
Thomas
P.S.I want to post a pic, but the last try was a flop (to large), so I think I forget it...

Thanks for the compliment. As far as I can tell, the quality is really good. Its no $135 bag from a boutique company, but it sure looks and smells fantastic. Like i said, Target is giving away a $5 gift card (at least yesterday they did) when you buy this. Great value-

nope....let us know how they go!
Regarding the Gillette DE blades made in Russia:
They did a great job. (Now I can only compare them to the Personna USA ones I got at Wally World, which I know don't fare too well in other reviews on this site...and I still need to order a Blade sampler from Letterk!) They seemed much sharper, but not TOO aggressive in my Merkur Classic Long Handle.
I found them at Eckerd's Drug Store, but you can see them here:
http://www.countrycc.com/gillette_stainless_razor_blades.html
Oh, and I also bought some of the Surrey Hypo-allergenic shave soap!

Randy,
Pardner, you crack me up  !
The "Miami Vice" Injector Collection! Perfect! You are right though; these are the pleasant pastel colors of Miami.
I always loved the opening credits and theme of Miami Vice!
Austin, I have been shaving with the Miami pink injector with Ted Pella blades. Great shave, love the extended reach. The cleaning lever on the underside of the head is very functional when you are ready to rinse the razor. It releases the tension on the head, but two prongs pop up internally into the two slots of the injector blade so the blade doesn't fall out when you are rinsing it.
Cheers,
Richard

This morning when I arrived at work I passed by the reception desk asking them whether any packages were delivered for me. The nice lady from behind her desk "Hey Benjamin, it seems you're getting popular aroud here, every 2 to 3 days packages arrive for you!" Anyway, I put up some pictures from the stuff that arrived over the last couple of days.
http://www.corporatedeathmatch.com/acq20060906a.jpg
From left to right:
- Gillette Tech with no datecode - Thank you Bunker!
- A possible other Gillette Tech (we're figuring that out in this (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5576) thread so any help you could give us over there would be highly appreciated). It doesn't have a datecode but it's head is remarkable close to other Tech heads.
- A Gillette Aristocrat Junior without datacode in excellent condition with box, paper packaging, directions of use and the blades in its original container.
http://www.corporatedeathmatch.com/acq20060906b.jpg
Here we have:
- Gillette SuperSpeed with datecode G1 (1961Q1) - eBay seller sent the wrong razor but told me to keep it for the trouble and then sent me the SS below which I expected to receive.
- Gillette Slim Adjustable (I think) with datecode H2 (1962Q2) - Thank you Goose!
- Gillette SuperSpeed with datecode Y4 (1953Q4)
If I'm wrong with any of these identifications, then please tell me. Still learning about all this stuff.

I picked up two more tubs of C&E Sweet Almond Oil. I have no idea why since I already have a year's supply of it; at least the SWMBO doesn't complain (seeing as how I don't complain about her soap-buying addiction that takes up the other half of that shelf in the 'fridge!). But S.A.O. cream is lonely by itself, so I had to pick up some of their Sandalwood ASB as well.

I’m quite new to the wet shaving thing – I started in June. I don’t post much because I feel I’m not experienced enough to offer insightful opinions. However, I really want to try a whole lot of products. Once I’ll be knowledgeable about creams and other stuff, I’ll post a metric megaton of reviews so I can contribute as much as I learned from all of you guys. And judging is comparing, so I first need to compare.

Just received tubes of Trumper Violet and Rose cream and a tub of Lavender T&H cream from Sesto-Senso. This adds to yesterdays Taylor Sandalwood for my excursion from hard soaps. Initial comment - the stick-on label on the Taylor was crooked and looked bad for a premium product (memories of 1970s British motocycle engineering!). I managed to peel the label off and reseat it and it looks a bit better but still not high end. The T&H package looks like a high end product with embossed lettering on the lid. The Taylors was also rather a messy job to open with a plastic disk crunched into the cream that pulled up a big gob of cream when I removed it. I spent a few minutes with a knife repacking the tub. T&H was superior here too with some celarance between the disk and the cream. The Trumper tubes both look high end well finished. I like the sandalwood scent, that's an easy 9 for Taylor and it gives decent lather and shave. Will report my views on the others after a few days of trials.

That little plastic thingie is there so the cream doesn't get all over the top of the container during shipping. This is a big help in a runny cream. I agree with you on the T&H tubs - really classy.

My new SR-204 with the "ivory" handle. (It's fantastic, I can't say enough about and I haven't even used it yet!!)

My father's SR-204 with the "tortoise" handle
A strange shaving mug off ebay
I'm so excited about the SR204. It's a great size. I think the SR108 would have been to big for me. It feels amazing. Compare my new brush to the one I've been using:

Check out the crater in the middle of my old brush:

And finally, can someone tell me if this is indeed a shaving mug and if so how to use it properly? I'm considering putting a rubber stopper in the hole between the chambers.

Actually it's from a B&B member, slcsteve.
I'm not a big fan of eBay after getting ripped off twice.
The razor is in good condition and I'm interested in shaving with my first adjustable. I bought a Fat Boy from another B&B member but it still hasn't arrived and it's been several weeks. I guess it's kind of hit or miss whenever you try to buy something at a distance.

My first order from Charles (and first post at B&B)! Figured I'd try a few soaps (since I've only used creams until now) and get a few items for some upcoming travel.
http://badgerandblade.com/gallery/displayimage.php?imageid=3479
From left to right...
Sticks:
- Tangerine Spearmint
- Bay Rum
- Rose Geranium
QEDman Da Vinci Water
Savile Row pure badger travel brush in tube
Soaps:
- Grapefruit & Peppermint
- Pine & Cedarwood
Juniper Berry stick (free sample)
1 oz. atomizers and bottles to decant stuff for travel
Not that you guys need to hear yet another plug for Charles, but he provided helpful (and fast) advice via e-mail before I placed this order, and his densely-packed box made it all the way across the country very quickly.
This board has been a great resource during my past month of lurking, so I figured I'd give you all some eye candy in return until I get enough experience to dish out some advice.

The picture is of the Omega next to a C&E best badger brush. I think this will make a great little travel brush.

The QED haul was yesterday, and today's mail brought a 1948-1950 Super Speed that cleaned up really nicely:

I'm assuming it's a 1948-1950 because there's no date code and it has a blade loading notch.

Jim,
I have one just like that and it works great. I like things from 1962, it was a good year. My mother must have thought so too, because that was the year she conceived and birthed me.
Anyway, back to the razor. Some guys adjust for different passes. I prefer to adjust for different parts of my face. I can do most of my face on 9 but usually drop down to 3 for the chin, lip and around the adams apple. I got mine for $5 at a second hand store. I almost missed out but felt compelled to ask and she said, "I just saw one". Next thing you know her husband pulled it out from under a pile of stuff he was working on by the counter.

Seth,
I just received one exactly like this today that I bought on Ebay for $4.99 + $5.00 S&H and wasn't sure what it was with no date code, thanks.
It cleaned up nicely. I'm trying to get my son set up with some good stuff with out spending too much. I actually bought this one accidently and was the only bidder. I think I'll give it a try tonight.

Hello All,
Late arrival Saturday afternoon: a beautiful, resin handle Omega badger brush from Perfect Beauty on Amazon.com (search on Omega Brush).
It is 4 3/8" tall, bristles are 2 3/8" high, handle is 2" and the knot size is 24mm.
Here is a front and back pix of the unbloomed brush. Notice the elegant little gold Omega medallion on the front and the "bowtie" pattern on the back:

Groeten,Hey Frederik,
She got it at Paris Ixelles in Mechelen, next to the H&M. Chances are high you'll be able to find it in any big Paris Ixelles store also in Antwerp.
Let me know if you need any more info. :001_smile

What a steal! Enjoy...it's a nice piece of work, and there's just something neat about still being able to use something that well over fifty years old.
I do not claim to be anything resembling an expert when it comes to identifying and dating these things, but if it's got a twist-to-open knob, no date code, "Made in USA," and a notch on the central tang for blade loading, everything I've read indicates that it's probably from 1948-1950. Here is one that was recently put up for sale, in case you need some better pics to help with the ID.

Started using it for head shaving three days ago. Remarkable:001_smile No nicks, no bumps feels great and US$ 3.79 a can

I picked up a 1930's Eversharp-Schick Injector from eBay for all of $3, and it cleaned up pretty well. (I really need a digital camera.) I paired it with some new Schick injector blades, and it gave a decent shave. I still need some practice!
