Gentlemen,
I am very new to this group. I found my way here via a recommendation I read (or perhaps heard) from Mantic59. Over the last couple of days I have read lots of messages; many of them were interesting and/or helpful. However..........

1) Is Badge & Blade a store or at least a cyber store? If so, how do I get to it?

2) I read some of the B&B Mall postings, but I can't figure out how the mall works. Is it explained anywhere?

About a month ago, I shaved my beard of 27 years. Over the last four weeks, I have remembered the pain and irritation that I think may have prompted me to grow and maintain the beard. It is that pain and irritation that set me on a search for a better way of shaving. Wet Shaving (in its purist sense) seems to be the answer.

I am finding irony in the fact that I started as a teen with my Dad's brush, mug, and DE razor, but then moved into the Gillette arena armed only with Edge! http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/smilies/eek.gif

Now I have come full circle. I purchased a brush, a cake of Williams soap, and found a suitable mug. I still have my "Mock 3" http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/smilies/confused.gif but have been looking online for a DE. I have a couple of rough spots above my upper lip and all over my chin. I invariably cause both locations to "weep blood" every time I shave. I know that you have them, so I will welcome all suggestions for technique and a suitable DE to purchase.

Beyond that, I have also decided it is time to try to repair the damage I have done to my skin over the years through lack of knowledge and care. I was just too busy with family and career. I am reading the forum here and at MenEssentials to find the best products for combination skin that has been neglected.

As you might perceive, I have been as busy as a Badger in my quest for kindness, gentility, and zen for me and my skin. I appreciate all of your comments and hope to someday be a member who can contribute in a positive way. Thanks for your patient attention to my expressed thoughts. Now, how do I get out of this text box? http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

First, here's the mall (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=11): it's just a section of the overall Badger and Blade. If you click the logo at the top, you can scroll down through all sections.

There are two other resources: the Wetshavers forum (http://groups.msn.com/TheWetShaversGroup/) and ShaveMyFace.com (http://www.shavemyface.com/forum/index.php).

To my knowledge Badger and Blade is just a wetshaving community formed by the forums. There's a lot of experience here so don't hesitate to ask.

Carey, welcome to B&B. Myself, I'm 52 years old, and I've been shaving since the age of 14. Except for a can of Barbasol about 10 years ago, I never used anything except a brush, and soap and/or cream, and of course different razors. I used to think I knew everything about wetshaving, but I learned so much from guys on these forums. Anyone here, myself included, will be glad to answer any questions you might have, and to help you as best we can.
