So I got the post today and found a package covered in stamps and the letters USPS. I opened it to find a great selection of DE blades from West Coast Shaving:

10 Merkur Super
10 Crystal Platinum Chrome
10 Feather Hi-Stainless
10 Dorco
5 Gillette Platinum
5 Bic Chrome Platinum
5 Personna Platinum
5 Derby Extra

Wow, 60 DE blades in total. Not only enough blades for a long time, but a chance to find my perfect blade. I have only used about three different types of DE blades before so it will be very interesting to see how different blades affect my shave. Expect lots of long SOTD posts about each blade.

All this for having a funny username!

I would again like to thank all the people that organized the competition and anybody that took part. Also, thanks to the people at West Coast Shaving for my prize.

Ps. My prize got here very fast considering it went across an ocean. I wonder if I am the first to receive my prize as I am the first to post here.

PPs. I just checked West Coast Shaving and it turns out I got the Extended DE blade sampler pack. I hope nobody minds me saying this, but 60 blades for $21.50 (roughly £11.50, at time of posting) seems like great value to me.

These guys don't half mess around, do they? :w00t:

Funny thing is, I hadn't read very closely and wasn't even aware I was in the running for anything on this particular one; I just liked drandall's post and said so!

What a gift pack Nancy Boy sent, too! 3 bars of soap (signature, spa, and sweetgrass), body wash, shampoo, signature and replenishing shave cream . . . wow. Thank you so much!

I think I'm going to go take a shower and play with my new toys now.

(I posted this in the raffle thread but I'll post here as well.)

My raffle prize has arrived!

As you can see from the pix, my wife marked the package "Fragile," in response to my shouts that I had won a "major award." No, it's not a leg lamp, but some great products.

Inside the shipping box was a present with a nice bow.

Apart from the expected stash, they also included some samples: coconut oil and sandlewood shave creams (presumably Trumper's), Ritual razor rinse and post-shave balm, Kid Glove Shave Gel, Helan Vetiver & Rum shampoo and shower gel, and a whole buncha Jack Black samples: shave cream, post-shave, facial scrub, facial cleanser and beard lube.

Thanks to smallflower.com aka Merz Apothecary! Anything I don't like will be put up for grabs (for free of course) in the forum.

Thanks to Truefitt & Hill for an awesome shave. I won the 1805 shave cream and 1805 after shave balm after answering some T&H trivia. Lathering with this shave cream is like laying my head on a soft pillow. Both have an subtle fresh marine scent that I catch a glimpse of throughout the day. Here's a pic I took of it for SOTD. The products came packaged like a gift, nestled very classy blue packaging paper. Thanks carnies and thanks T&H.

Wow, I can't believe I never saw this thread until today.

I wanted to join in to announce my pleasure with the B&B Carnival this year and to share with everyone my prize of a shiny, new bottle of Trumpers Bay Rum Cologne from Cambridge Chemists in NYC. I'll try to find the time to snap a picture for everyone later-on.

This was my first Trumper's product and I REALLY liked the packaging and the splash bottle top with the small, twist-off crown cap. I'd describe the contents as a very clean, classic, bay rum with cloves. It's really good stuff.

Super fun times and I can't wait for the 2009 Carnival!!!

Thanks to B&B and Classicshaving.com I was able to win the 4 oz bottle of Royall Muske. I took a picture of the opposite side of the bottle than what is usually seen, as well as the inside of the paper the bottles come wrapped in. You can see that the natural spray pump has been screwed on and the crown bottle top is at the bottom of the picture.

I wore this cologne yesterday and was very pleased. The best musk I've ever worn. Head to classicshaving.com and buy a bottle of this for yourself today.

I had assumed that I simply dreamed up winning an amazing prize from Georgetown Pottery (http://www.georgetownpottery.com) as part of the B&B Carnvial, but the UPS driver who delivered a big box of happiness to my door yesterday was quite certain that he had the right address. Without further ado, please enjoy the following pictoral display of my glorious Georgetown Pottery Bathroom Makeover!

The before pic: :biggrin:29033

And the after: (Can you count the seven, count 'em, seven beautiful pieces of Georgetown Pottery?)
29034
29035
I'm really impressed by the high quality of all the pieces from GTP. They are perfectly sized and balanced, substantial without being anywhere near too heavy, and beautifully finished with an even glaze.
29036
One last pic of all the shave stuff. The new soap bowls, both covered and uncovered, are quite nice. As with the G3 scuttle, the interior ridges help a lot, while the shape of the bowl itself keeps northward lather crawl at bay. Lathering Tabac (in the front bowl) was a breeze! (That's a puck of Wool Fat "on deck" in the background for, um, size comparison...)
29037

The folks at GTP were kind enough to include a handwritten note and a catalog in the box, as well, ensuring that I'll become a paying customer quite soon. If you're looking for gift ideas, I didn't realize that these folks have such a large selection, including vases, kitchenware, lamps and lanterns, clocks, pet bowls, planters, cabinet knobs, bird feeders... I do highly recommend the scuttle and bowls, as well, and will post a formal review once I've had a chance to put them more fully through their paces.

I am entirely grateful to the good folks at Georgetown Pottery for providing such an amazing prize. Sincere thanks also, of course, to the mods, whose dedication and generosity of time are entirely inspirational. Quite simply, B&B is an amazing place.

My Nancy Boy package arrived!!

http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/1418/nblogobv5.jpg

Actually received it Friday, but haven't been able to put up pictures up till today.

The whole set up: Signature SC, Pre-shave oil, and Aftershave gel, Altesse badger brush, and a sweet Everest Dopp Bag. (I think I was supposed to receive a travel size of the Signature SC as well (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=709402&postcount=1), but it was mysteriously absent , but I've never been one to look a gift horse in the mouth.)

It all looks fantastic

Opened and hung Dopp Bag:
http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp157/qjkxqjkx/NBscore2.jpg

This thing could potentially carry 7 straights or 10 DEs, and a myriad of soaps, creams, AS, blades, and brushes to last you through the Shavepocolypse.
http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp157/qjkxqjkx/NBScore3.jpg

Tried out the set up yesterday, WOW :w00t:. Amazing stuff, definately has the top spot in my rotation now.

My contest winnings arrived today. My "major award" as it has been referred to in my house since the day I won. I was a bit awestruck when I actually opened it. I somehow wish I hadn't shaved last night, but I should survive until "the shaving hour" this evening.

I have to give another huge thanks to all of the people responsible for coordinating the carnival. For the amazingly generous prize package donation to the hand written congratulations, I can't begin to thank Jim and all of the folks at Vintage Blades enough.

(I think I was supposed to receive a travel size of the Signature SC as well (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=709402&postcount=1), but it was mysteriously absent , but I've never been one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I can assure you there was no mysterious disappearance of the travel size shaving cream but rather it was my mistake listing as a product that was included. After seeing your post, I went back and checked the original email from Nancy Boy which stated that the following prizes were to be donated to the Carnival:

-15 assorted body bars
-5 bottles shampoo
-5 bottles invigorating body wash
-5 full-size signature shave creams
-5 full-size replenishing shave creams
-1 signature shave suite (signature shave cream, cooling after-shave, pre-shave oil, badger shave brush in a ballistic nylon dopp kit)

Please note that it did not include the travel size shave cream. Therefore, it was not an oversight on the part of Nancy Boy who, as you can see, was most generous to B&B, but rather my own inadvertance including it as part of the Grand Prize giveaway. My apologies. (But thanks for pointing it out )

And as for your Carnival Score Erick, simply amazing. Thanks again to Jim at Vintage Blades and thanks to Eric at Nancy Boy.

Thanks for the clarification, I wasn't thinking someone was pulling a fast one on me, just curious as it had been listed:biggrin:.

I tried everything again this morning, it lathers up fantastic and I'm really liking the aftershave gel, I'll just need to wait for a road trip or vacation to test it out the ballistic nylon dopp bag.

Thanks again Eric at Nancy Boy and B&B!!

My package of delights that I won (or rather AACJ won and donated to me) arrived today.

:biggrin::w00t::biggrin::w00t:

Due to the PITA that is international shipping, I got a bit of a mixed bag of non-alcoholic stuff rather than the originally-planned prize (which would have contained that threat to national and international security and world peace, aftershave and cologne samples.)

Anyhoo ... I happened to land the following swag:

a full-sized Honeybee Sue Cedarwood Amber shave soap
a full-sized "GB" shave soap from Bowling Green
hefty-sized sample pucks from TGQ of Highlander and Sandalwood shave soaps
massive samples of Douro shave cream and ASB
an equally honkin-huge sample of cream from TGQ
a mind-numbingly large sample of J Peterman's 1903 cream.

Yes, there is alcohol in Boosters but Ive had more burn from my alcohol-free CE aftershave balm than the boosters Ive tried. As for comparing, Im not sure how they differ on effect other than the boosters burning a bit since I use thayers and then an aftershave in my routine
