I've posted here before, but I don't think I've actually done the check-in yet. I figured now would be a good time, because I just finished my first DE shave.

I got the Merkur HD and used a Merkur blade (not the one in the box). Overall, I was pretty happy with my first go-round. Only one real nick (under my nose) and the shave was on par with my old razor after a couple of uses. After my first pass, the Merkur felt pretty natural, and I might have felt a little too confident. I feel a little bit of razor burn, but I was trying different directions, etc. Maybe I need to get the technique down a little better first.

Overall, I'm very happy. Thanks to everyone here who got me interested in wet shaving.

Welcome. The Merkur HD is pretty easy to learn with IMO.

Goodluck.
